Hello, I'm reaching out on behalf of my employer Hanapin Marketing. We currently reside in the Showers complex at 501 N. Morton Street, and our employees share the Showers Red Parking Lot with County employees. Over the last 6 months, we have all noticed a rise in crime in the parking lot, particularly with theft. I've attached several police reports that have been filed in the last few months to support these claims. These are the incidents that were reported to the police, however, there have been others as well that were never filed. For example, in early January one of our employees had his door handle ripped off his car entirely. We are hoping that the city will notice this trend and assist us in our request to advocate for higher security and/or additional patrols in that area to deter thefts. Street light over the main entrance to the City Utilities service yard has been out for a year. You'd think one of the 100 employees that go in and out of that gate might make a note of it.

Don't know if this can be addressed or not (as I don't know if it is a city or private street light - I assume it is a city light) but we live at Dixie and Dunn and the street light at that location (on the south west corner of Dixie and Dunn) goes in and out and flickers consistently throughout the night which can be disturbing when trying to sleep or when our 10 month old is trying to sleep. More importantly, it reduces visibility and safety when it is out. Unsure if this can be addressed but we'd really appreciate it! Thank you much.

On Henderson from Miller Dr south to South Drive, all of the street lights along Henderson are out for 2 blocks. The light on the south side of South Drive & Henderson is out as the last one to the south that is not working. These have been out for a while. It is very dark.

The alleyway that runs behind our house at 422 East Cottage Grove, between 10th and Cottage Grove has been extremely dangerous this year. It is very dark and my car, and two of my roommate's cars have been broken into. There was also a car that suspiciously caught on fire and completely burned two nights ago. The alley behind my house is by far the most dangerous part of walking home at night, and I don't feel safe going to my car parked back there at night. We have also had attempted break-ins and many thefts from our porch and surrounding the house.

There are not any street lights in the alley behind my house. We had a break-in this week in the back of our house, and I think having street lights in the alley could have prevented it. Being back there at night is very creepy, and anyone could come attack us at night when we are trying to get in our back door. For safety reasons, I feel like it is important to that back there.

The cover/cage of this street light swings down from the bulb. I have reported three lights on E. University St. I walk my dog at night and am very attentive to proper lighting for safety reasons.
