Police reports have been filed because car robberies have occurred numerous times on Jackson Street. We were hoping to get street lights put in order to maybe reduce the amount of theft in the neighborhood.
This is in regards to the 11/21/16 report I made. REQUEST # 11687264 Outdoor light located at 800 W Kirkwood Ave. has still not been repaired. It is in the same condition it was this fall. The light comes on for maybe 2 minutes at a time, then goes out for 10 minutes and starts the cycle again...first it flickers in an amber color and it at its full brightness for again, about 2 minutes. This is a main road in town and serves many people on foot. It is as unsafe as it is annoying. Please fix asap. Thank you!

There are not any street lights in the alley behind my house. We had a break-in this week in the back of our house, and I think having street lights in the alley could have prevented it. Being back there at night is very creepy, and anyone could come attack us at night when we are trying to get in our back door. For safety reasons, I feel like it is important to that back there.
The alleyway that runs behind our house at 422 East Cottage Grove, between 10th and Cottage Grove has been extremely dangerous this year. It is very dark and my car, and two of my roommate's cars have been broken into. There was also a car that suspiciously caught on fire and completely burned two nights ago. The alley behind my house is by far the most dangerous part of walking home at night, and I don't feel safe going to my car parked back there at night. We have also had attempted break-ins and many thefts from our porch and surrounding the house.
Hello, I'm reaching out on behalf of my employer Hanapin Marketing. We currently reside in the Showers complex at 501 N. Morton Street, and our employees share the Showers Red Parking Lot with County employees. Over the last 6 months, we have all noticed a rise in crime in the parking lot, particularly with theft. I've attached several police reports that have been filed in the last few months to support these claims. These are the incidents that were reported to the police, however, there have been others as well that were never filed. For example, in early January one of our employees had his door handle ripped off his car entirely. We are hoping that the city will notice this trend and assist us in our request to advocate for higher security and/or additional patrols in that area to deter thefts. On the east side of Walnut Street, the last three streetlights just before the 10th street intersection are out. This was observed on Oct 16th, 2017 at roughly 10:45pm
