I have been unable to get through to Sanitation, so I am using this source to ask 2 questions. How many gallons do the current trash cans hold? I'm asking about the cans which the city now limits in size. Will I be able to change to a different size should my guess about what my needs will be under the new system? Max Skirvin
Regarding the new trash pickup system, what payment arrangements will be in effect for a resident like me who travels a lot for business? I am out of Bloomington for at least 4 months of the year, when I will have no trash for pickup. MMcG
Someone this past weekend dumped a box springs in the middle of Wilson Street between Grant and Palmer. I moved it off the street, but could you send a truck and pick it up?
I called last Friday and reported that my recycling was never picked up and I was told to leave it by the curb and it would be a day or so before you would get to it.. As of today it is still in the front of my house full to the top so I guess it will not be picked up until tomorrow which is the usual day for pick up. FYI: a random, non-city employee man, who had a dog with him, was taking cans out of the recycling toters on my street this AM. In my opinion, this should be discouraged.

Today on June 20 2017 I was standing at my window watching the Recycling Pickup crew look at my Recycling and decided not to pick it up so they write me and leave a note saying it's not properly sorted. I am getting very upset with the recycling pickup. They like to pick and choose when they want to pick up my recycling. I sort out my recycling the same way every single time and sometimes the choose to pick it up and sometimes the choose not to. This time they decided not to , and I can almost guess it's because it rained last night and got the paper bags a little wet. So they was to lazy to pick up my recycling. This is very messed up. Big time. Please have someone call me to discuss this issue because it's getting really ridiculous. They should not be working if they do not want to do their job right.
