The sidewalk is hard to use due to plant overgrowth and children attending Binford and Rogers have to walk or ride bikes on the uneven grass in order to get to/from school.

Is it possible to have a crosswalk painted on 3rd at Rose? Today I saw a blind person trying to make the crossing. Per the email below, a few years ago, it seemed this was a possibility. Yes. There are several sidewalk cuts along Washington Street in front of the AT&T building that are covered with smooth metal pieces. These metal covers provide absolutely no traction when wet and are very dangerous for pedestrians. Can these please be replaced with the more common covers that have raised ridges to provide some traction?

Hi. After witnessing my third or fourth car accident in the past six months at the exact same intersection (when walking on the sidewalk every time), I would like to request the installation of a traffic light at Longview and Pete Ellis. This intersection, only two minutes from my house, is undeniably dangerous and (I am 99% positive) fatal at least once. The faster traffic on Pete Ellis doesn't have a stop sign, so when cars on Longview turn, it is hard for them to detect those fast vehicles. I have almost been hit crossing the street it is that bad. Today, December 22nd, a friend of mine was seriously hurt in an accident at that intersection.Despite the costs of a traffic light and the work it will entail, I do not want to risk my life and my friends' lives and the lives of other citizens anymore. I might send an additional, more detailed letter to the mayor if this does not go through. I sincerely hope you consider this proposal. Thank you.

Vegetation is growing over the sidewalk on the Maple Street side of house. Sidewalk is impassible the entire length. You have to walk out in the street. Looks terrible and is a safety issue.

I am not requesting a sidewalk, only that the city finish a sidewalk project it started a long time ago. Three years ago the city installed a new sidewalk on the south west quadrant of Kinser Pike and the 46/45 Bypass. A black fabric erosion barrier was installed and never removed. This eyesore has been in place since the completion of the project. The State of Indiana is unable to mow this area because of the obstruction. It would be nice if the city would remove this so it can once again be mowed. According to the city this area is part of the "scenic gateway corridor" to Bloomington. Sidewalk is pretty much completely blocked by vegetation. Students use that sidewalk to reach the bus stops and are forced to walk in the street.

The bushes are overgrown and cover the sidewalk. It is hard to walk on the sidewalk without hitting ones head on the bushes.
