I was in the left hand lane on Walnut (going north) and a truck was next to me in the right hand lane. He sped up and slowed down with traffic so I was not in his blind spot. He knew that I was there. At the 3rd street intersection where the lanes do the "jog" the truck did not follow the lane markings. He instead went straight and "merged" into my lane, cutting me off. He did not have a turn signal on. I had to slam on my breaks in order to advoid an accident. This type of thing has happened to me many times at this intersection. The cars do not follow the lane markings! Can you repaint the markings or do something about this intersection. If you would just sit there and watch it in the mornings you would see what I mean.

I live on W Smith Avenue in Bloomington Indiana and this is a brief clip of the construction that continues to go on literally steps outside my apartment. I am shooting this video from just inside my door. I am most concerned with the extreme noise pollution that has to violate the noise ordinance, not to mention the safety hazard and risk management nightmare presented by the fact that less than 5 feet and some yellow caution tape separates my front step and a 15+ foot drop. We have not been contacted by anyone working on this project or any city officials, except that we were notified by our landlord that they afraid that our 'car was going to fall into the hole.' Road Construction sign has been run over or blown over...supporting pole is bent and sign is laying down/wedged in with light pole and parking sign on United Commerce Bank parking lot...on 3rd street between College and Walnut. Someone here tried to right the sign but the post is bent and could not be set right. Needs to be removed/reinstalled?

There are many pedestrians like myself who walk North Walnut under the railroad trestle just north of 13th Street. On the west side of Walnut, this is so overgrown with weeds (some nearly trees) it becomes difficult to safely navigate there. Who is responsible to maintain this problem? If it's the railroad, they should be fined - especially in the winter when snow is NEVER cleared. The weeds are a nasty sight, too. One more thing, what should we do when we see homeless people making their 'homes' under the bridge. I just came past there and a couple of scary guys (trolls??) were making themselves comfortable. I'm a middle-aged single woman w/o a car so I often have to go to CVS from my home at 11th and Walnut. Thanks for any help you can provide!

6-12-12: Sidewalk not accessible to person in electric wheelchair; got stuck; rescued by two passers-by. East side of Walnut just south of 3rd street. rough gravel where sidewalk dug-up.
