This home is dumping water from teh sump into Bryan PArk and high levels. It is running to teh sidewalk and is freezing over causing a hazard
There are a series of potholes in the 'funnel' on Lincoln at Dixie. There is no escape.... no return.... we're doomed !!! Thanks, Roger
I took my 3 year old son to Bryan Park yesterday and a man had a dog with him that was poorly restrained (on a 25 foot cable). My son was running towards the toddler playground when the dog ran after him and knocked him down. The dog was on top of my child for several seconds and while the dog didn't harm my son, it was a very frightening experience for him. I don't want him to be afraid of dogs, and I've been trying to teach him to appreciate animal companionship. I don't know what the rules are for leashes in Bryan Park, but dogs need to be handled better, especially near or around the kids' playgrounds. I didn't get the man's name or information but I took a picture. He was walking on a bright orange tightrope and he had a white dog (young, probably a puppy - this is the one that chased my son) and a black dog.
There's a silver Jeep Liberty parked facing the wrong direction on Allen between S. Washington and Walnut. It has been there for several weeks. I am assuming it was abandoned because it hasn't been moved for weeks, and one of the windows was left down.
Sidewalk is blocked by limestone blocks. Potential tripping hazard.
The sidewalk in front of our house has many cracks. Some of the places it is cracked are raised up a few inches which can cause tripping. In addition, we have pipes that run under our sidewalk and out to the street to connect to the main sewer. The clay pipe that runs under the sidewalk has roots growing into it. In order to replace the pipe we need to take out the sidewalk. We are hoping that since the sidewalk needs replacing anyway, the city could let us know when the sidewalk will be torn up and replaced so we can have our plumber ready to replace the pipe while the sidewalk is up. Thank you for staying in communication with us about when the sidewalk will be replaced with a safer one.
Attempting to turn left onto Hillside onto Washington is extremely difficult during high traffic times. Contributing to this is the very poor sight line when attempting to see oncoming traffic - the hill up from walnut blocks westbound traffic to a degree, and the porch structure built to the property line at 202 E Hillside makes it very hard to see eastbound traffic. What could be done to make this intersection feel less perilous?
My residence is located at 724 S. Washington ST. Two years November the Street Department performed pipe work in the middle of the street in a 2 to 4 block section. At the conclusion of the project the section of street was patched. Since then the section has been re-patched and re-patched. My concern is one of safety. S. Washington is a main thoroughfare for the Police Department traveling at high rates of speed. Loose gravel is sprayed every time cars drive through the area. This is also a highly used street for cyclists who commute to IU and other locations. The loose gravel from the re-patching creates unsafe pbike travel. Lastly, this section of street is unsightly. The bike lane lanes and curbs are unpainted and the patch work is broken and pot holed. I would certainly appreciate it if the City of Bloomington Street Department would take a close look this Spring at a more permanent surfacing of this section of street. Thank you!
