Dead skunk on road.
Dead skunk on road.
Raccoon persist under porch. Caught in trap, uncertain as to proper relocation protocol.
I am not sure what the owner of this building has planned, but it seems there has seem some slow work done to the house since my husband and I have bought and renovated our home a year and a half ago. In this time, we have seen animals come and go from this abandoned house, seemingly homeless people come and go from the basement and the windows boarded up. This home is in utter disarray. With so many homes in the prospect hill area being renovated and maintaining the historical feel, this is one of the few if not the only home that is a major eye sore on our neighborhood. I am not sure if there can be anything done legally to motivate the owner to do renovations more quickly or to just tear it town. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated to address this problem. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
I wanted to have a meet up with some parents and their children at the park so went to scope it out around 5pm on a Friday afternoon and there were at least eight adults with lots of stuff hanging out and 2 out of 3 restrooms were locked. I know that a public park is for everyone, so I'm talking about of both sides of my mouth, but I didn't feel comfortable and didn't want to have my kids two year old birthday party at the trades park. Seems like a good place to put some more houses, since the park can't be used by everyone. In theory I like the picnic shelters being by the playground so I can sit and eat and watch my kids, but I think I prefer Butler Park while if there are transients who come off the railroad track they aren't at the playground.
There’s a street light on a utility pole that is above the north east corner of the basketball courts of the building and trades park that has had a pine tree grow up around it. The light appears to be broken/nonfunctioning. It would be nice to have a functioning light(s) on the court.
Light on the basketball courts is broken. Would be awesome if there were more lights too. My friends and I play here and with the days getting shorter it would be great to be able to play in the evenings.
With the construction going on in the Building Trades Park homeless people are starting to hang out in the church parking lot across the street. The security patrols for the park used to check out that parking lot but have stopped since the construction has started. It would be nice if they swung through occasionally while the construction is going on.
No snow removal
Sine there is no section PARKING VIOLATIONS so I chose this category. Please forward to the correct category superviser. The Red Ford Truck has been parked at 619 S Eastside Drive forever. The owner lives at 612. This truck has not been moved for 3 days continually and is on public property. It probably has not been moved in all the years that has been sitting there a 1000 times for 3 days. According to the Bloomington Municipal Code that makes it an abandoned vehicle. The owner will say it is not abandoned, but then you need to change the definition of 'abandoned vehicle' in your code. On top of this, this vehicle has a license plate that expired more than a year ago. The owner also owns a white sedan which has a license plate that expired more than a year ago as well.
I and several neighbors have an ongoing problem with a man on our street. He has two large vehicles parked on the street, another vehicle in his driveway and a large truck that has never been moved. Yesterday, he moved this Ford-350 close to my driveway and I cannot get out safely on the street as the truck blocks by view. This truck also blocks my sidewalk so visitors cannot come to my door for a visit. These problems with him have been going on for years and the Ford-350 has not been moved in more than a year. The Excursion is also a truck and it also blocks safety. Both of these vehicles do not have current plates and the man keeps telling the parking officers that he has then in the house and will put them on the vehicles. He has not done so. Finally, several people on our street are anger and resentful because the city has yet to force him to make needed changes so that all of us can be safe. Please help us have a better life on Eastside Drive. Thank you. The Rev. Linda C. Johnson
