Traffic Signals
321 S Jordan AVE
- Case Date:

I often bike north on Jordan avenue to 3rd St., then turn left onto 3rd with the traffic light. Before the recent construction, the left turn signal appeared to be on a timer, and now it seems to be activated by a metal-sensitive loop in the pavement. But so far I have been unable to trigger the left turn signal with my bicycle. I have been instructed to ride exactly on the wire, and I ride a steel frame bike from 1970, so it should have plenty of metal to be detected. Is there some way to make sure this traffic light actuator is sensitive enough to work for bicyclists as well as for cars?

The block between Atwater and Third Street on Jordan is in horrible shape. When will this be paved? Cars are swerving into oncoming traffic to avoid the potholes and rough surface. Thanks for all you do!

Prior to the road construction, there were arrows indicating that the left lane was a left turn only lane. The right lane is the one to go straight through to Jordan Avenue. Now that the arrow is no longer there, people in the left only lane are also driving straight through Jordan Ave causing mutilple close call accidents. Why is the left lane arrow missing on the pavement?

Potholes, Other Street Repair

The location is only an estimate, but I drive on Moores Pike almost everyday to know that this is a new pothole. I couldn't take a picture of it since it's on a very busy and narrow road. It's hard to see when driving since it blends well with the asphalt and it's at an angle where it can't be seen because of the hills. Even if it were visible and I tried to avoid it, it would be difficult since the road is narrow and there is oncoming traffic almost all the time. But I can tell you that it's pretty deep, that it damaged one of my tire rims. I attached a photo of the damage. Please let me know if there is anything the city can do to help cover the cost for repair.

City Arborist told me to contact HAND for tree code violations. There are at least 1/2 dozen dead trees at entrance to The Arbors Apartments on E. Moores Pike. Several large limbs have fallen recently, causing hazard to people, dogs and cars. Manager is aware of problem & has said he plans to remove them, but weeks have passed & no action has been taken. I walk my dog on the path & road where these trees are & it frightens me to walk by them, especially on a windy day.

I'm not sure if this would be a City of Bloomington issue or not, but I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
My wife and I moved into the house at 322 E. 1st St. last July and since we've moved here there has been an utility wire hanging down from the pole roped up on our fence behind our garage (the yellow one). There's also what appears to be a separate coax cable hanging from the pole on the roof of our garage. Our home was not wired for cable when we bought it so I assume it might be the previous line.
We are hoping to beautify and clean up our backyard this spring and we'd like to get these wires taken care of. I assume they aren't hot, but I obviously don't want to test my theory. Who should we get a hold of to get this taken care of? Is there a way to tell who owns and is responsible for things dangling off this utility pole?
Thanks,
-James

The address is 3401 Ashwood Dr. The bushes are so overgrown that they are completely covering the sidewalk and have caused it to fall apart.
