This evening a crashed off my bike while making a tight turn off of Atwater onto Swain. This was caused by gravel, mud, and leaves washed down Swain to the intersection with Atwater. Fortunately, I only scraped my knee, riuned my pants, and got muddy because I was traveling fairly slowly. Several times over the past couple of years I have reported debris (dirt, sand, gravel, mud, etc.) at this intersection. Each time the street sweeper or someone would eventually clean it up. However, if anyone were to give this situation the slightest thought, it would be apparent why this is a recurring problem. Gravel and dirt wash down to this this corner from the alleys off of Swain. Failure to install curbs, retention mechanisms, and proper drains and/or paving the alley is necessary to solve this problem. Failure to do so will result in further accidents and harm.

Allen st greenway. Eastbound at walnut, the beg button is AWOL. It was too far from the roadway to be pushed by a cyclist anyways. The two-stage crossing (beg button in the refuge island) is worth nothing to me because I can only push it if my kids (trailer) are hanging out in the southbound traffic lanes. There is literally no traffic calming for northbound traffic on walnut here, which is still largely unwilling to yield even when the lights are in operation. The stop signs at Washington and Lincoln are facing the wrong direction. It is important to make allen inconvenient to drivers, but it is also essential to make it super convenient (and safe) for cyclists. The routes through bryan park suck for cyclists. Just reiterating a bunch of notes in case excellence ever becomes an interest of the city. Thanks!

Drainage grate partial removal on 10th at west side of rogers. I often pass over this grate on a bike when entering the b line after going down the big hill on rogers (southbound) and if i didnt notice this, i would literally die. Not sure if the trades district garage workers removed it or aome equipment tore it up or what but yowza!! YOW!! ZA!!

bridge over train tracks where rogers turns into madison (about 800ft north of 11th&rogers). NB bike lane (on east side of rogers) merge zone was inadvertently removed with new paint. originally, there was a merge zone (dashed white line) where the bike lane ends. when the bridge was resurfaced last year, they got the merge zone correct but added an extraneous solid white line north of the merge zone. when they repainted, they simply made the whole thing a solid white line. the current spot where the bike lane appears to end is a dangerous spot to merge. even with the striped line in the right place, this was an uncomfortable merge. it needs to be improved, not harmed. thanks!

northbound bike lane on rogers between 8th st and b line (part of the detour). i found a CBU detour sign partially blocking this bike lane and i carried it down to their construction site at the b line. then i encountered this storm drain, which is at least 3 inches below grade, from poor milling practices when the road was resurfaced last year. these partial obstructions make the bike lane more technically demanding than it should be. not a fair substitute for the all-ages all-abilities b line.
