The B-line trail, between Tapp Road and Grimes, there is a lengthy u-shaped detour. It is covered in large rocks that make it nearly impossible to navigate on a road bike (my bike tires are 25mm). Several times I have nearly fallen over as the rocks engulf my small tires. I am a female bike commuter. I commute to the hospital at 6:30am and come home at 7:30pm. I no longer feel safe riding the trail due to the hazards of this rocky detour. I am at risk for either taking a significant fall or puncturing a tire. This makes me vulnerable. Please, either pack down the large rocks or cover this detour with a tarp.

I saw this bird at lake griffy & it is too small. I demand prompt action or I you shall expect an expansion of my remonstrance.

Hello! I’m a resident of 639 north maple street. On my dead end street, there is an untrimmed, unofficial entrance that MANY residents of the neighborhood access on a daily basis. However, the path that has been roughly paved by passerby’s is steep, rocky, untrimmed and dangerous, especially in rain or snow. Even in the summer, it is dangerous. Children and pregnant women have issues going through here. I have tried to enter the b-line this way, but it’s too dangerous and steep for me. Anyway we can get something done for the neighborhood? We know there’s a sidewalk and safer way after the bridge on 11th to access, but out of convenience or maybe ambiance, most people enter through our dead end makeshift entrance. The makeshift entrance seems to not be in a definitive tenants yard/property. No one really knows. If someone could come check it out, that’d be great and appreciated. Thanks! - Ruth

First - thank you for how responsive the department has been to our observations about Park Ridge Park. We really appreciate it!
Park Ridge has a density of plants in and around it and is a relatively small park. As such, the amount of debris that can accumulate on the park compared to its size is quite high. We have witnessed that this debris tends to remain over the winter and well into spring if it isn't removed. We have seen that this eventually causes problems as the debris prevents grass from overwintering well and regrowing in the spring. This leads to bare spots (especially since the park is pretty all sloped except for the build in structures) leading to erosion. The Parks Department has worked diligently to mitigate these erosion issues through sowing grass seed, putting down straw mats, etc. This has been effective at at least stopping the erosion. However, I wonder if these mitigation efforts will have to be repeated next spring given the amount of debris in park. I suggest removing the debris now to hopefully prevent future problems and accompanying efforts to fix those problems. Please let us know what you think and thanks again for your responsiveness and hard work at making Park Ridge and Bloomington a great place to live and work.
Cheers,
John

Hi,
I'd like information about donating a memorial bench at the Winslow Sports Park. My dad recently passed away. He loved walking his basset hounds at the park, so we'd like to place a memorial bench for him there. How should we proceed?
Thanks for your help.

The recently removed Wapahani lake has produced a new washout problem; and I’m also concerned that a similar problem is going to happen to the remaining lake of the old twin lakes of years past. I’m not sure why people think removing a large body of water is the best answer for alleviating water issues. Anyway, before I digress further.
I know the city/county are well aware that something permanent will need to be done. My hopes are that a well thought out plan will be considered

At the urging of our neighbor the city removed a tree from our property (in the front easement) as it had signs of the ash borer. Many other trees in our neighborhood have been removed for the same reason but replaced almost immediately. We have waited since April 27, 2017 for stump grinding and a replacement. I have attached a photo of the notice, in case that is helpful. Please let me know when to expect a replacement. Thanks, Nikki Rolf Boyd 3201 E St. James Ct 47401

The trees at Park Ridge Park have many dead branches. Dead branches are a serious hazard since they can fall off. They are right above the area where children play. This must be fixed immediately.
