I wonder what can be done about 2102 E. Wimbleton Lane in southeast Bloomington. No one has lived there a several years. Someone does cut the lawn, but the house is aging and in disrepair. In the past months, the gutter over the garage is falling off and the house is becoming a real eye-sore. Can anything be done to locate the owners and have them keep up maintenance on the house? Resident Miklos Santorini contacted the Office of the Mayor's Facebook page in October detailing the presence of medical waste at 718 S. Rogers. Santorini stated that, "This building is part of the hospital complex. There has been a build up of of trash, garbage and even bodily fluid specimens behind the dumpster there for over 2 years. I have tried contacting the hospital about this, but the PR people say it's a problem with the waste hauler, not them." Our intern contacted HAND at that time. A rep from HAND stated that they would be sending a neighborhood compliance officer over to take a look. Santorini contacted us again today (Jan 29, 2019) about the same property stating that, "...there is a buildup of medical waste around the dumpster. Vials of blood and urine, etc. I walked by today and it is still there, just more rotten and frozen. Does anyone in the city have the ability to at least check this out and maybe have it cleaned up?"

I live at 925 N. Madison St. I want to report that the tenants and or management of 910 N. Rogers St. haven't been taken care of the grass and it's waist high. I have seen rodent come out of the grass and it's becoming a problem for me, because these rodents try and sometimes get under my porch and die.

403 E 20th ST

There is what appears to be a fraternity renting all of the units at 403 E 20th St and they are constantly playing loud music and littering the property with empty containers that sit around for days before being cleaned up. Attached are pictures of the lot that has been littered for days. The noise from their parties can be heard from down the street and the litter often ends up on the sidewalk facing the street and the small wooded area behind the property. The parking lot behind the property is almost always covered in trash.

The Woods at Latimer Apartments, Bloomington, Indiana, 47401

The Woods at Latimer apartment complex has smoke detectors in units that are up to 10 years expired. Included photo are ones removed from our unit. Maintenance claims to only replace them when residents request, since "they still work" and "It's easier to leave old ones up than go into every unit and put new ones in". When batteries in these expired ones died, we alerted maintenance and they said to take them out and just "not start a fire" overnnight, as they would be out to replace them in the morning since it wasn't considered an emergency to not have working smoke detectors in the unit.

Excessive Growth

1501 E Browning LN

1501 Browning Lane is an abandoned house. The owner still lives in the area but not in the home. It is becoming increasingly dilapidated. Recently a large evergreen tree fell into the house and is currently on top of the roof. Not sure if there is anything you can do to address this. The house is hurting the value of our street!

Excessive Growth

1508 W 11th ST

This report is in reference to serious overgrowth on a City right-of-way on the corner of N. Oolitic St. and W. 11th St. The property that this right-of-way is connected to is 1508 W. 11th St. The owner of this property is/was Joseph E. Day. However, he is recently deceased. At this time, the property is in the process of repossession by BB&T Bank. I know that in usual circumstances, Joe may have been responsible for the care of this area. However as I stated, he is now deceased. I have been trying to contact BB&T Bank - I actually may have an interest in purchase of the property since I own the vacant adjoining lots - but have gotten absolutely no response. In the mean time, the overgrowth on the City right-of-way that is on the west edge of his property is growing out into Oolitic St, has grown to the point of obscuring the speed limit sign, and is covering a fire hydrant. I am hoping that, given the circumstances, the City could come and mow/cut/clear that area. The main backyard is inside a fence, but this small section along Oolitic St has been left outside the fence. Thank you, Anthony Eller

Excessive Growth

1001 W 11th ST

When trying to make a turn from Orris Dr onto W. 11th St, the excessive growth from this home obscures the view enough to where a driver has to stick the nose of his/her car all the way out on 11th to be able to see if the way is clear. Obviously, this is dangerous. It could cause an accident with cars, schools busses running to and from Tri-North, or any pedestrian walking down the sidewalk - which, in and of itself, is obscured.
