Will initiate contact with the owner regarding repairs and compliance with Title 17 - Unsafe Structures
Web Form: I wonder what can be done about 2102 E. Wimbleton Lane in southeast Bloomington. No one has lived there a several years. Someone does cut the lawn, but the house is aging and in disrepair. In the past months, the gutter over the garage is falling off and the house is becoming a real eye-sore. Can anything be done to locate the owners and have them keep up maintenance on the house? I fear it will have an impact on house values in that and adjoining neighborhoods. Thank you. Kathleen Chmelewski email: kathleen.chmelewski@gmail.com

Mike, please take a look when able to see if there are any unsafe violations. Thank you.
Hi, Kathleen. I'll assign it to someone in our Department to go take a look to confirm if anything is deemed unsafe. But if structurally sound and secured and ownership continues to comply with Title 6 (Health and Sanitation, for matters such as cutting the lawn) options may be limited. On a side, basic ownership information on properties can be obtained through the County's Elevate GIS system: https://monroein.elevatemaps.io/.
Ms. Chmelewski, Since this property seems to be vacant, I am going to reassign your ureport to the Housing & Neighborhood Development Department (HAND) to determine if it's an unsafe structure. HAND will assign an inspector to it that will make the determination. Best, Christina
