Scooters, Bike-share and Related Issues

Potbelly Sandwich Shop

Case Date:
11/6/2018

Several scooter riders are riding the scooters in the dismount zone along the north side of Kirkwood Avenue between Indiana and Dunn avenues. Increased (or any) enforcement of laws would be nice for a change.

There are ridges across the street opposite to Potbelly on Kirkwood that is hard to notice while riding downhill westward on my bike. I'm surprised that I haven't fallen off my bike yet. I've had a few close calls though

Potholes, Other Street Repair

Piedmont Pkwy, Greensboro, North Carolina, 27409

Case Date:
6/8/2019

This picture shows the left hand side of Piedmont Parkway as you are going to turn into Morris Farm Drive. The black strip has a dip into the pavement that could cause someone's car to get out of line. The hole is about 3 inches deep. This needs to be repaved or torn up again and fixed properly. It has been sinking since it was repaired.

Biking & Walking

Performance Refinish Supply

Case Date:
5/28/2019

There is a significant amount of gravel in the multi-use path by Performance Refinish Supplies. It's a notable hazard because: 1. It's at the bottom of the hill where people will already be going fast on a bike. 2. There's a fast S-curve at the bottom of the hill, potentially requiring turning in the gravel section 3. The gravel has almost the same color and texture as the path, making it difficult to see with time to react. 4. There's not usually this much gravel here, making the condition unexpected. It's been a rainy spring and I already know two experienced cyclists who have crashed due to unexpected gravel or mud in turns. I spotted this hazard too late slow fully myself and just tried to keep a straight line riding through it. I nearly rode off the side of the trail, but thankfully avoided losing control.
