Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. But more importantly this is designed to reduce response time and address the backlogs in which we have in some of our districts.'" Too many cars, dump trucks, and even school buses are speeding on W. 17th St. west of the roundabout to the hill. Sometimes they're going in excess of 20 mph above the posted speed limit (which is 25 going east and 30 going west). Plus many of the vehicle, particularly motorcycles, have terrible mufflers that far exceed the noise specified by the Bloomington noise ordinance. It's unbearable at times (not exaggerating). I can't even hold a conversation on my front porch. And other neighbors are awakened every night by the noise. If this isn't the right place to post this complaint, please send me the correct contact information.

At the intersection of E 3rd St and College Mall Rd motorists headed west on E 3rd St and turning south onto College Mall Rd often crowd into the intersection as their light turns yellow and then red. They then are blocking the intersection so that people traveling east on East 3rd are blocked from proceeding. Today they blocked the intersection for almost he entire duration of the green light for those traveling East on 3rd St. My suggestion is to post an officer at this intersection and ticket persons who are blocking the intersection when the light for the eastbound cars on 3rd St turns green.

Blue Buick at 3345 is permanently stationary with no registration I do not know if this is illegal or not. The condo H.O.A. is unresponsive ( Ivy Sells). The owner of this unit is Hoosier Choice Realty. This resident had a visitor that intimidated me in the past . Cars.law.com states an unregistered vehicle in Indiana may not be located on a sidewalk. Hello. There is a problem with reckless driving in the Maple Heights neighborhood. I experience it on my daily walks on Fairview, 11th, Maple, 13th, Jackson, Rogers, etc... I see it and hear it throughout my day specifically on 13th street both west and east directions and Fairview both north and south directions. Frequently, it is a vehicle speeding north on Fairview, then turning east on 13th street. Then just a few minutes later the same car speeds in the reverse directions. Is this some sort of a methamphetamine pickup? I don't know. But it is regular, has been a regular occurrence, and I am tired of it. The worst regular occurrence are negligent, selfish motorists traveling at very high speeds from the east on 13th street heading west to Maple. I was taking in the recycling bin last night and could not believe the speed at which someone drove past me. This is not safe. There is a special needs adolescent in the neighborhood who sometimes dances around in the street. There are children that play and should have every right to play without cars traveling at high speeds past them. This is incredibly dangerous driving in a residential neighborhood and I would appreciate it if the police could enforce the traffic laws prior to their being property damage and/or personal injury. Speeding traffic on East Morningside Drive. Can you do ANYTHING about the speeding traffic on East Morningside Drive?? The posted speed limit is 25mph! I feel like it’s going to take someone being seriously injured before anything is done about it. A lot of residents including myself have had to buy our own yard signs begging people to slow down! I feel our tax dollars should enforce this. Post an officer a few times with a radar and hand out some tickets before it’s too late for gods sake! I’m tired of it! I back my boat in the drive in the summer. I literally have people try to drive around the front of me on the sidewalk once. This is crazy. I’m guess the average speed on the street is 45-50mph. Some I’m sure top 60 mph or faster. Please do something. I live on a slight curve. It’s like taking your life in your hands pulling in. Some moron came around the other day looking at her phone going well over 50 mph I’m sure. Thought I was going to die. I’ve lived in plenty of other towns and work in a different town most everyday. It’s not like this anywhere else. Laws are enforced and people don’t have to beg for help. This is like a highway. Please, help out the Morningside residents.

kids are being dropped off directly onto South High St while drivers (parents?) are stuck in traffic. With the exception of the well staffed and operated crossings, the stretch from the traffic circle to the school entrance has become an unsafe free for all. Back ups during drop off and pick up extend from school parking lot onto high st,then up E Rogers and E Winslow. Not an easy place to flow that many cars and people but creating a safer situation should be considered.
