Is the City responsible for retaining walls alongside walkways or does it fall on adjacent property owners to maintain them? On the Lincoln side of this property there is an old wall that is just about to collapse. It seems that if a team of masons got in there now prior to its failure, they might be able to take it apart somehow and reset it so that it will last another 130 years. But if it were to fall on its own, the stones would likely all break up and be useless trash. Property owner (Parker Rentals) is aware of the potential problem, but they do not seem to care. The surrounding area has many retaining walls that add character to the community. It would be great if this one could be saved.
People are living here, they are dumping trash and it smells so bad like pee and poop
There is a homeless camp behind our subdivision, Shady Acres at 708 S.Cory Lane. They have been walking through here to access the main roads. This is a small subdivision with probably 60% widow and/or single elderly women. We are requesting help in getting this camp removed. Thank you. Susan Scales 812.219.5738
City owned parcels on West cottage Grove east of Monroe Street are overgrown and obstructing sidewalk passage. This is the only sidewalk and poison ivy and brush make it difficult to navigate. There's a tree marked for removal that needs addressed before it causes injury or property damage. This has been reported before.
Invasives in the right of way, the north property line, and along the creek including privet, poison ivy, burning bush, & multiflora rose.
I appreciate the progress on this squatter / fire hazard, but will simply boarding up the place solve the problem of homeless squatters using this as a bicycle chop shop? Is there anything else we can do to evict them from tearing off the plywood and squatting again? I get legal BS, but let's accelerate this and fix it. This place has been a fire hazard and theft / stripyard for years. The homeless is this area at 7AM, sitting between Grimes and Rallys, waiting to prey again - is a f'ing joke waiting to deal with privately. Do something.
I’ve noticed non native plant species on this City parcel and would like to know since we have been working on similar plant removal and treatment along the B Line who might be be ones to inquire of addressing the bush honeysuckle, wintercreeper et al on this triangler parcel just a few parcels from the back parking of Opportunity House. There is a City-owned tree in the ROW that is completely covered in vines, some of which are poison ivy. The vines are right next to the sidewalk, and are so high that the vine is going to seed. Is this the responsibility of the adjacent property owner, or does the City attend to its own trees?
The management company has not trimmed the thistle/weeds growing along the driveway and sidewalk and they have become unsightly and hazardous.
