Water Utility Problems
409 E University ST
- Case Date:
- 1/22/2024
Two trucks with power line workers drove up the alley directly adjacent to our residence, 409 E. University st to work on the power lines behind our house. During this process the covering to what we believe is our main water pipe was broken. We believe this because since then our water has not worked. They placed an orange cone on top of the hole and we assumed that the city would be informed of the issue but our water is still not working. All of our bills are and have always been paid so we know it hasn't bee turned off and now that temperatures are above freezing we know that it wasn't a frozen pipe as there is no flooding.

I'm not sure uReport is working correctly. I've reported a few Bird scooters blocking sidewalks and the process seems to hang at the 4th step, saying that the request is being processing. I did create one earlier today and it progressed to the point where it showed my the ticket that was created. The next one I created did not and appeared to hang at step 4 again.

Since there is a new historic survey approved by council, please fix this link:
https://bloomington.in.gov/historic-bloomington/survey
Also I would strongly advocate adding a way to search your property on “my Bloomington” by address/Including the survey designation in all of the list of information that pops up when you type in your address there.

Given that we are all house-bound and many of us are taking advantage of this to begin our spring yard clean up early, could the city move yard waste pick up to one week earlier? We have done so much work that our garage is full of bags and would love to do more, but are limited because we have to wait two weeks for the regularly scheduled April 13 pick up. It would be a great service to the community to have this early start and encourage more of us to get outside which is much healthier than staying in, beautifying our city while following stay-at-home orders. Thank you for your feedback.

Why isn’t the city addressing the deer population? They are a nuisance, attacking my dogs and destroying property.

Was near 910 S Highland Ave on 5/21/24 around 7:30a while walking my dog and deer came out of nowhere, charged at us and would not back down; came as close as a foot from us. Another dog walker on Maxwell heard the commotion and helped distract it so we were able to get away. Do not feel safe at all walking around the area since I'm guessing there is a fawn nearby.

Was walking my dog near 811 S Fess Ave around 12:45p on 5/28/24 when a doe charged at us and would not leave us alone. A gentleman stopped his car since he saw what was happening and assisted in making sure we were able to get away. Assuming a fawn is nearby given the behavior. This keeps happening on a regular basis around Elm Heights and I do not feel safe walking around my own neighborhood due to the deer being too aggressive towards both humans and dogs.
