Dead deer on the sidewalk.
Dead deer on the sidewalk.
Looks like a dying young raccoon on the road/sidewalk outside this address. It was curled up in a ball but moved it's ears when it heard me walk by - didn't move it's body at all though.
A dead possum is lying on the sidewalk in front of this house.

Dead possum on S. Washington between wylie and dodds. On the east sidewalk. It's large, being picked apart by turkey buzzards and starting to smell.
I moved a large dead opossum off of the street and put it in the tree plot just next to the sidewalk at 1220 E First st. (south side of the street). The opposum had been hit and had been dead for a while I think but I didn't want it to continue to be smushed and to cause traffic to go around it. I am hoping it can be picked up by animal control. I don't live there - I was coming home from downtown when I saw it.
I noticed a large bald hornet nest in a city tree in the treeplot in front of 715 West 13th Street. City employees (trash collection), postal workers, and members of the public regularly walk down this sidewalk and they will be walking directly under this nest. My understanding is that bald hornets are quite aggressive, and this is unsafe. I hope the City can remove it quickly. Thank you. (Not sure if you can see it or not in the photo, it is quite large)
There is a dead woodchuck near the sidewalk on some poor soul's lawn on the left side of Washington heading south between Wylie and Dodds cross streets.
Dead deer on the sidewalk of high street just north of Faith Lutheran Church.
The house at the corner of Clifton and E First Street (I think it is 713 Clifton) often has 2 dogs in the yard that ferociously bark at pedestrians who use the sidewalk there (there is no sidewalk on the other side of the street). I walk there after dark occasionally and the first time they just about gave me a heart attack. I was afraid the German shepherd would jump over the fence and attack me. Maybe something for an animal control officer to take a look at.
