Hello - I am the homeowner at 102 South Waldron St. here in Bloomington. This past Friday my basement flooded an excessive amount (3 feet) due to water buildup on Waldron Street. This has happened 4 times over the past 6 years I have lived here because the water has nowhere to go due to the flat area at the bottom of Waldron Street. I am requesting a storm drain be installed on Waldron Street just North of my house and in front of 100 South Waldron Street. My neighbors basement has also been severely flooded over the years due to water buildup from the street - the homeowners name is Simon Ladd. We both have sub pumps in our basements (I actually have 2) and it still doesn’t solve the flooding issue. I have spoken to Mr. Ladd and we both agree the best solution is for the city to install a storm drain. My number is 812-369-0765. The neighborhood has insufficient street drainage for runoff, and this has threatened to flood my home again after yesterday’s rain. It already flooded with extensive damage in 2021, simply because the developers have inadequately accounted for the necessary drainage. I have documented the issue with the ONE drain on the downward slope of the street, where the water pools, meeting my front door, and even moving four parked cars. I would appreciate the benefit of your expertise regarding this matter as soon as is feasible for you. I have also contacted my homeowner’s association for assistance. Thank you!

I live at 3515 E Grandview Dr, Bloomington 47408. I have had drainage issues for a number of years where runoff during heavy storms causes flooding in my garage. Since the street was repaved last year my garage has flooded multiple time damaging my walls and equipment. I tried to dig a relief drainage ditch in the easement but the problem requires a complete re-digging of the ditch that over the years has filled with clippings and soil. The drain running under my driveway along the street is completely clogged with roots and debris. In addition, my water main broke over the winter and the city left a massive pile of gravel in the hole where the repair occurred mak8nh an eyesore as well as causing more drainage problems. I need this looked at as soon as possible since the flooding is getting worse, although the relief ditch has helped some.

At the intersection of SR46 and 17th street, there seems to be excess drainage of water from the storage tank. It has been running steadily crossing 17th street into storm drain for over 24 hours.

It looks like the photo I'm trying to send may not be working.. but anyway.. In front of 1309 South Lincoln is a gutter that is NOT accepting water..the issue is NOT a plugged gutter at the street level because I have cleaned it out myself.. THis has been going on for YEARS and I've reported it twice..The city looked into it and said that there is no blockage,, but since the water backs up at Every rain, the something is obviously wrong..If you can't get a full street view from the photo I've sent with this message let me know where I can send an email with a photo attachment..Thanks..
