Blocked sidewalk: Unkempt overgrowth of 500 S. Hawthorne yard is blocking the Hunter Street sidewalk on SE corner of Hunter and Hawthorne and is blocking wheelchair and stroller accessibility.
This empty lot is on North Summit two lots South of 11th. This collection of garbage occurred from a camp during the last several months. The camp has since vacated and has relocated. The same result is sure to occur again unfortunately at a new location. This was reported at the beginning and was told nothing could be done and the neighborhood should work it out. This issue is destroying our city. Regardless of this being a private or city lot or in what area of the city this is taking place someone in city government needs to take ownership and provide the leadership and use of city resources to remedy this issue. Citizens and neighborhood associations can only do so much. Landlords and property owners need to be held accountable. Action needs to be taken. The problem is only getting worse. This case needs to remain active until this situation is resolved. A simple drive by is no solution. It’s obvious that if we cannot take care of the issues on Kirkwood (the focal point of our community) current department leaders are not qualified to continue in their positions. This can be remedied without being harsh or heavy handed. It takes leadership, commitment, communication and perseverance.
I live a house down from this property and these people have been leaving waste all over the yard and in the street. If someone could please have them clean up I would greatly appreciate it.

On the west side of N. Williams St. between 8th and 9th Sts. (location: 39.170070, -86.543292), the yard is so overgrown that it blocks half the width of the street, making it difficult to navigate when other cars are approaching during most of the year and impossible to navigate when snow plowing further narrows the passage.

The sidewalk from here all the way to the pedestrian crossing at Olcott sucks. It's an awful garbage sidewalk. There's been several reports about it being unsafe, and it's constantly blocked by vegetation. It's narrow and precipitous in places. Anything wider than a sedan risks clipping pedestrians.
As you may know, the cable installers are back at work in the Winslow Farms neighborhood (after leaving it uncompleted for well over a year), and they are inflicting significant damage on properties. We came home to find piles of dirt and rock, a new ground box not flush with the ground, and significant damage far up into our lawn from their boring machine--way beyond the utility easement. Further, their work is damaging sidewalks-both cracking the concrete and pushing it up to create tripping hazards. They were rude to our neighbor who confronted them about these issues. Further, they indicated that they were going to trench back between the houses on Azalea, across the conservancy area, to Bayberry. I would like to talk with someone from the city about this excessive damage, how far back onto our property they are allowed to bring their construction equipment before it becomes trespassing, what is an acceptable expectation/timeline for repairs to our lawn, and what sort of plans they may have for trenching back between our houses and across a conservancy area. They posted announcements of their work AFTER they began and a neighbor complained. Please label each of the exits from the circle, and, if you're feeling fancy, give drivers an indication of what can be found at each exit point.
