I found this company online and was looking into their products. I found their official Reddit page, and it seems as if they discharge firearms into an empty barrel inside of their shop. Is this safe? Is this even legal? Can just anyone do this? Can my neighbors be doing this? Followup to case# 181838 (I believe there is a problem with distracted driving in Bloomington despite there being a state law about hands-free driving for a few years now. Please inform me what BPD is doing to directly address this danger to the public safety of this city. Thank you. Marnina Patrick) I took Captain Pedigo up on the suggestion to contact the ISP and am now sharing the replies I go: "Thank you for taking the time to send us a note of concern for drivers utilizing celllular devices while driving. We have listed the statue below for your review and will forward you concern to the commander of the bloomington district. If you see a violation, please don’t hesitate to report the driver to your local police/sheriff's office or the closest ISP post." "The bloomington police department is still responsible for traffic infractions even if they have staff shortages. Police departments throughout the nation are experiencing staffing shortages however still continue to serve the public."

Hi, It seems there maybe miscommunication within the chain of command or not a 100% buy-in to "best practice" or a little of both. Report #181846 described a problem and its location. Unfortunately the problem has not been addressed in any way. However, it does look as though some one came through with a leaf blower and cleared the cypress leaves that had covered the trail further up towards Southeast park, next to tennis court entrance and wood post. I do very much appreciate that as the the pavement is very bumpy there in the corner and can cause loss of control of bike or scooter as well as trip walkers. I don't have construction experience but have used a shovel in the yard and that is probably all it would take. Just a shovel and one person to remove some soil blocking the current grade from working properly. If that isn't the solution how about adding a thin layer of pavement so runoff goes the other direction. I believe this was done on Renwick trail, there are patches of pavement here and there. Thanks for your help with this.

Woman living in car outside framemakers - not paying parking meter and area around car covered in trash. Wakes up local residents in the middle of the night screaming profanities. Not sure why the city is allowing this behavior. Attempted to call the mayors office but they have stopped responding to calls.

Appears to be an abandoned vehicle parked at the end of East Canada Drive near the High Grove Apartments. Vehicle has not moved since Monday and it is obstructing sight lines and traffic. Who maintains this road way? We were told it was the city after they made Sare Rd office remove their no parking signs.

In the Grandview neighborhood, especially on Post Road, the asphalt is cracked and missing in several places. Grandview Avenue seems to be all right, but in addition to Post Rd, Staats and Kerry need work.

After reading about the variance denied to the property owner, Randy Lloyd, I couldn’t help but think about the current use of the site at or about 113 E Kirkwood. This property sits in an overlay that does not permit surface parking. I can’t find any use in the UDO where parking is allowed when not attached to a structure, and I specifically remember a number of discussions regarding this issue. In particular the Methodist Church’s desire to convert the footprint of the old post office to surface parking. I believe that had to turn it into green space. I also have concerns that this lot is 100% impervious. 20.4.20 I just don’t see how this use satisfies the spirit of the Comprehensive Plan, the existing UDO, or is consistent w previous use determinations. Further, the owner expanded the parking from what was there pre-demolition of the 4th street garage without any public review. Finally, I doubt this parcel meets the requirements of 18.12.10. How would BFD access or service a car fire on this parcel? It’s too narrow to get truck in there and difficult to service from the alley. This use may have been over looked during the demolition and reconstruction of the 4th street garage, even though parking was not really needed downtown during the pandemic, however, it’s time for enforcement against this parcel and other nonconforming uses.

Traffic Calming maintenance request: street markings and posts beside each traffic bump need refresh. Streets: E. Longview, Morningside Drive, N. Glenwood west and east. All traffic calming bumps need the striping repainted to mark the bump. All bumps need the poles and reflectors checked. Some poles missing, many reflectors damaged/missing. This has caused a hazard for vehicles who do not see the bumps due to faded markings and the vehicles traveling too fast and potential damage to vehicles. The marking DID get refreshed this past summer on parts of Morningside, thanks! Now we need similar action on E. Longview and the two Glenwood sections. I have submitted similar requests in the past but do not see them on file except for one for a missing post (2014). Please followup as this area (E. Longview) is an important connector to the City bike paths that connect to the Polly Grimshaw trail. Thank you - Park Ridge Neighborhood Association/Steve Akers
