- Case Date:
- 10/10/2020
Our neighbor continues to park on an unimproved surface. We have reported this before and they continue doing this. This photo was taken this morning Saturday October 10, 2020 around 8 am. There are on street parking spaces, they just prefer to park in their back yard. Rental property owned by Aviva Orenstein. Please help us with this recurrences. Thank you

Request a new Street Light
1204 S Dunn ST
- Case Date:
- 3/31/2024
There is a street light out on the corner of Grimes and Dunn St. We have had some vandalism to neighborhood cars and several neighbors have expressed concerns that Dunn street is not well lit. We could use additional street lighting and replacement of existing lights that are not working.

Trash
1205 S Washington ST
- Case Date:
- 8/7/2020
Hello - I sent an email to sanitation department Wednesday morning but haven't heard back so trying this route... I live at 1205 S Washington St and our trash can went missing sometime between 1am and 9am early Tuesday morning.
I've sent a note around to the neighborhood email list in hopes that someone will notice a random one abandoned in their yard. But so far no one has. A neighbor thinks he may have heard it traveling north on Lincoln near the intersection of Dodds around 2am).
What's the next step? We don't produce much trash so could likely skip a week of trash pickup if there's a chance it'll be spotted by your tracking equipment elsewhere.
Thanks for your help,
Jenn
City Construction Projects
1206 S Woodlawn AVE

I am requesting that a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator be installed in a location along W Woodlawn Ave, somewhere between S Weatherstone Ln and E Wilson St. The speed limit on S Woodlawn Ave is 25 MPH, but the average vehicle's speed in front of my approximate address is closer to 45 MPH, with many vehicles regularly reaching speeds over 60 MPH and even 80 MPH at least daily. The reason why the speed limit is 25 MPH on S Woodlawn Ave is because of its proximity to Indiana University foot and bike commuters, Bryan Park, the Bryan Park Pool, a bus stop, and Union Elementary School. In addition to these elements, S Woodlawn Ave is also hilly which contributes to dangers associated with limited lines of sight between vehicles and pedestrians. Being a thoroughfare between Hillside Ave and streets north of it, traffic naturally flows faster than 25 MPH especially with the only stop sign between 1st St and Hillside Ave being at Sheridan Ave. Drivers frequently “floor” their vehicles through S Woodlawn Ave, and the police speed enforcement seems to never pull anyone over for speeding. For the above reasons, the current traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave is incompatible with its intended use. Installing a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator (for both northbound and southbound traffic) will hopefully greatly reduce thoroughfare excessive speeds. I am worried that this is a formula for someone to get hurt and it is only a matter of time unless the City does something about this. Please at least conduct a traffic study. Thank you for receiving my note, and I will be following up on this.
Traffic Suggestions
1206 S Woodlawn AVE
- Case Date:
- 10/16/2021
There is a very dangerous vehicular traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave between Sheridan Dr and E Hillside Dr, especially near the Grimes & Woodlawn and Weatherstone & Woodlawn intersections. There is a blind hill on Woodlawn that greatly decreases visibility for everyone.
North @ south-bound vehicles on Woodlawn regularly break the speed limit by 20+ MPH and have even seen estimated speeds of 70+ mph. Sometimes vehicles "floor it" on Woodlawn southbound from Sheridan Ln stop sign.
The city should consider installing a STOP sign on Woodlawn @ Grimes intersection to decrease the speed of North & South-bound traffic on Woodlawn Ave. The city should also consider additional signage to protect pedestrians who are crossing from Weatherstone Ln to Bryan Park. I have almost been hit there several times by speeding cars and trucks.
This is a primary route for cyclists, pedestrians, commuting students, and dog-walkers. Pedestrians and cyclists crossing Woodlawn anywhere between Hillside and Sheridan Ave risk injury and death by vehicles speeding up and down the blind hill.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
