Streetlight across the street from 209 E 10th is out creating unsafe area for pedestrians at night.

Please refer to uReport case #182390. There is an identical problem with the overhead street lamp at Washington/Cottage Grove and also the one at the intersection of Lincoln/Cottage Grove, that being that the lamp is an harsh, intense, ultraviolet-like purple color that is glaring and makes it difficult to see. It is a hazard and an annoyance. Please replace these lamps with normal, soft-light sodium lamps to match the others in the neighborhood. This is not just an issue of unsightly appearance - the lamps really are a hazard, as both drivers and pedestrians at night need to shade their eyes at the intersections.

Please see both #182475 and #182390. The light was replaced a block west (Cottage Grove / Washington intersection), but the purple light is still there at Lincoln / Cottage Grove. Was Duke made aware of this light, also?

Retaining wall is collapsing onto sidewalk, blocking wheelchair use. Owner has not maintained wall - pieces have been haphazardly thrown back onto the property over the last couple years since the house degenerated into a rental.

On the sidewalk on the corner of 8th and Washington, there is a square stone block embedded in the sidewalk. It is a tripping hazard. I have stumbled on it twice and this second time I broke my toe. I am not sure what it’s doing there, but it is immovable. It is on 8th St, beside the Stone Mansion on the corner.

I'm not sure if this is the proper way to report this, but there is a very dangerous crosswalk where I've almost been hit multiple times and I have seen the same thing with other pedestrians. The problem is when crossing from the NE corner of 10th and Walnut to the NW corner. The problems result from the fact that 1) the crosswalk is obscured from view for drivers on 10th coming from the East and 2) the stop line for those drivers is back from the intersection to allow for trucking turning E on 10th from Walnut. The result is that pedestrians start to cross on the walk signal but the drivers turning right from 10th have a bit of speed by the time they can even see anyone in the crosswalk and frequently can't stop in time when they come upon a walker. The only real safe way to navigate that crosswalk as a pedestrian is to just not use the actual crosswalk (eg. stay way to the left almost in the lane of traffic so you are even seen). If you try crossing there at 5pm any day of the week, you will immediately see what I'm talking about. ;) I'm not sure what the solution is but I just know it is very dangerous. At a bare minimum, I would suggest removing the bush at the NE corner to increase visibility but even then the layout of that corner is dangerous so perhaps someone can take a look and see if anything can be done? At the north end of the sidewalk out front, there is a street sign that blocks the sidewalk. Would it be possible to relocate the sign so that it is not in the way of pedestrians? It is dangerous in the dark.

About 20ft back from the southwest corner of 8th and Washington (between the street and the sidewalk) there is the bottom/stump of what was maybe a parking sign. If moving to the side to allow someone to pass on sidewalk or more likely someone getting out of the passenger side of a car could injure themselves, especially at night. Please remove or replace. Thank you.
