Bus Services (Bloomington Transit)

919 S Rogers ST

Case Date:
1/28/2022

The bus stop at this location was vandalized over a month ago and all the glass panes removed. This is the closest stop to my house, and the temperatures with wind chill have been terrible recently. Please replace the glass panes in this structure promptly; it would be very much appreciated by members of your community and Bloomington Transit Users.

Intersection of Patterson and Allen. If heading north on Patterson, there is a hump as you cross Allen street at the light. When doing 30mph(the speed limit) it's enough to upset steering and cause traction control to come on.

The situation along the B-Line trail around the Grimes bridge is out of control. Tents have been setup along the side of the B-Line just north of the bridge. While riding through this area earlier this morning with my 11 year old, we had an individual come out of one these tents and start yelling at us. This does not feel like a safe situation for anyone.

Garbage and debris all over the property and it's left there for days to blow into neighboring yards. City Bus shelter littered with garbage every day which collects overnight when the busses aren't running. Homeless citizens use the bus shelter as a living room from 4pm till midnight or later dropping garbage and causing noise disturbances. The free food cabinet in front of the property is a great idea, but canned food bakes in the direct afternoon sun every day which is a health hazard.

Hello! I'm not sure if this is the appropriate way to address this but I have an issue with construction debris. I live on South Madison Street between Grimes/Patterson and Hillside. The warehouse that runs the length of the street (between us & Switchyard Park) appears to be doing some sort of construction or remodeling. The top half of the outside wall was partially removed by them and more came down during the storms a couple of weeks ago. This siding and other items have been left at the end of our lots. In addition, we now have graffiti to look at which is a first in the over twenty years that I've lived in this house. Not only is it an eyesore but I can't take a lawnmower into that area. It's been weeks now & the owners aren't doing anything about it. I would greatly appreciate it if something can be done to get this mess cleaned up and to ensure that they clean up after themselves in the future. Thank you very much!

There are 3-4 grocery carts full of what seems to be the belongings of an unhoused person that have been discarded at the end of Madison. They have been there untouched for 3 days now. The neighborhood would appreciate if they were removed soon. Thank you!

By the warehouse along the Bline: The lack of adequate facilities for the homeless population in Bloomington, combined with all the overgrown vegetation, and potentially the use of the warehouse as a shelter, has resulted in ~ 10 cars being slept in overnight. That part is fine. However, there are no facilities for people to use the restroom, which results in the vegetation (behind the warehouse) and along the Bline being used as a latrine. Can Bloomington please pay attention to the homeless issue and take it seriously? Covid is not going away there must be facilities for people to use the restroom and throw away their rubbish. Currently, it's thrown all over the street on Hillside. Portland built tiny home communities to help with the homeless population, others offer hotel rooms, still other cities provide YMCA-type facilities. Bloomington continues to take this problem seriously and help this critical component of our community! With regard to restrooms in particular, given our current pandemic, safe and sanitary options for human waste are essential. We still do not know whether coronavirus can spread through human feces. Given that we live on karst topology, it is crucial that people aren't pooping outside (never mind walking through it and the horrid smell).
