Other

Case Date:

We live in Southern Indiana. My daughter moved to Carmel last year, so Bloomington is a good middle point to meet. She charges her Tessla at Fresh Thyme off of 3rd Street and we see numerous homeless people coming out of the woods and standing on street corners to the point where she doesn't feel safe charging her car there. On Sunday we went downtown to eat and encountered homeless people yelling on the street corners. The 9 y/o we had with us got an education we hadn't planned on him having! In the 2 hours we were in Bloomington, we encountered 15 homeless people! Hopefully, the city is taking steps to help their homeless population.

Animal Control & Neglected Pets

190 E Brownstone DR

Case Date:
8/8/2023

There is a coyote family living in the woods by the RR. There is a mother and at least two pups. They seem to hang out directly north of 127 E. 12th on the south side of the tracks. They come out in the evenings and early mornings and maybe all night long and run around the neighborhood. Does the city ever trap and relocate wild animals that are potentially dangerous? We don't want them killed, just would rather they live somewhere else.

Parks & Playgrounds

Case Date:
8/8/2023

I would like to request a much higher fence around the volleyball court if possible, extending farther toward the playground, or maybe just repairing the current fence and installing a VERY high netting (like you would have around a baseball field) above it. The current fence is getting destroyed by having to jump it to retrieve wayward balls, and the creek area is filled with poison ivy. It really needs fixing! It would be so much nicer if there was never any need to have to venture back there at all. Thank you so much! And if there is ever a chance to get another dump of good quality non gravely beach sand like you did a few years back, it is puddling on the West side after it rains. THANKS VERY MUCH!

Potholes, Other Street Repair

Case Date:
8/8/2023

Large potholes, torn up asphalt, on the city alley way off of 17th street, that runs between DDI detailing and the gas station at 17th and College. This is a city right of way permitting access to the parking lot used by employees of Like Law Group. The damage is so extensive vehicles could be damaged if this is not repaired. I understand the city acknowledges this is on their "alley" but will not repair this for quite some time. If vehicles are damaged I assume we can submit those repair bills to the city. Is that correct?
