While living at Terra Trace (321 E. 14th St) from 2020-2022 there were a lot of problems but one that should absolutely not be dismissed. I am disappointed that no one seems to realize the seriousness of this. On Aug 17, 2021, my neighbors set their stove on fire. Once I noticed the smoke smell, I went to the hallway to see what was going on and my neighbor explained what happened. They didn't know what to do so I pulled the fire alarm and it did not go off. I had to alert everyone by knocking on their doors to let them know the building wasn't safe and we needed to get out. I was told my claim was false and inaccurate. After some minor internet searches, I found that there was a fire here in 2011 (if I remember correctly) that killed a student. After finding this out, I knew I had to do more. I feel as if this apartment complex needs to be reevaluated for safety of the residents still living there. I will also be willing to provide more information, videos, etc about this incident. Lamp post 134 on B-Line Trail appears to be out. This is a high-priority public safety issue as there have been assaults on this part of the trail recently.

I am a parent of a student living at Union Street Center Apartments. I have been observing this area for some time and feel there is a safety risk for pedestrians crossing from a parking lot to the Apartments. I have addressed this with the University and they said this had been passed on to Bloomington official and I never heard back from the city. They said its not their property and the City of Bloomington would need to address. I have tried emailing another official and again have not heard back. The issue is N. Union Street needs 2 Crosswalks at each end of the parking lot, with Yellow Flashing Warning Signs in each direction. In addition, the lighting is poor in that area, again increasing the risk at night. The Risk Analysis would show there is a high risk of Severity, Frequency, and Probability for an accident in this area. Cars traveling from 10th street to 3rd as a cut through are traveling down hill and pick momentum or speed. I would be happy to discuss this issue with anyone who will listen, so we all fully understand the issue.

Homeless people sleeping in the woods across from the residence townhomes. They're making residents feel unsafe and unable to sit on their porches. They're leaving tremendous amounts of trash and human waste in the entire area. Have contacted police multiple times to report the trespassing.

Dear city of Bloomington, While I'm grateful your team has looked into this, the issue is far from being resolved. The repair work did not make any improvement in the noise. The remedy that was done the first time worked for awhile. The grate needs to be opened and cleaned out so that it seats properly. A rubber ring or some kind of padding needs to be placed on the contact points to reduce the vibration. The loud noise is going on 24/7. This should stop the noise when cars drive over them.

A gust of wind ripped away a tree limb on the red maple in front of my house and was blocking the sidewalk. I contacted the urban forester and left a message describing this situation, but didn't get a response. Eventually my housemates and I brought the limb down ourselves, but it still needs to be removed from the side of the road. Most of the debris has already been cleared except for the limb. We have enough firewood. Please remove the limb from the side of the road, thanks.

Several parking meters in front of our business are not working due to damage (they are not even installed) - this causes nearby tenants to park in these spots "free" for many days in a row, leaving nowhere for our customers to park. Could we please get an update on when the meters will be reinstalled?

On the south side of E Cottage Grove, between numbers 714 and 712, there is poison ivy (among the other vines) on a tree on private property not too far from the sidewalk. The house in the photo is 712, but upon looking at the maps and street view, I think the tree is on the 714 property. I figure I can leave that to you to figure out officially.
