Excessive Growth

909 W Cardinal CT

Case Date:
7/29/2022

Duplicate of ticket 180481, created on 7.1.22 and closed WITHOUT resolution by Maria McCormick on 7.6.22. I don't know, Maria. Does this look "resolved" to you? Property owner of 909 W Cardinal Ct fails to maintain property on the south side of the "creek", resulting in the attached. Overgrowth along the "creek", overgrowth in shrubs, bushes, and trees, and for the past two years (no thanks to the City), skunks have been living in the den created just on the other side of our fence. Husband routinely mows over or startles snakes when mowing two-three strips outside our fence. We're in a city neighborhood, for crying out loud. Kids are supposed to play in the backyard?? I can't believe the growth along the "creek" is aiding drainage at all, nor am I understanding how any of this is hard to find or hard to see, assuming anyone actually performs a site visit. All we want is to be able to enjoy the backyard. This? What's in these pictures? That's not why we moved here.

Excessive Growth

917 W Cardinal CT

Case Date:
7/29/2022

Duplicate of ticket 180481, created on 7.1.22 and closed WITHOUT resolution by Maria McCormick on 7.6.22. Not "resolved", Maria. New and previous property owners of 917 W Cardinal Ct have both failed to maintain property on the south side of the "creek", resulting in the attached. The actual yard on the north side of the "creek", or overgrown drainage ditch, has been mown once or twice this year. Once, coincidentally, just after the first ticket was submitted. But the property on the south side of the ditch, also belonging to 917 W Cardinal Ct, has not seen a blade in all of 2022. This has resulted in all kinds of extra wildlife living in the grass and wandering / slithering into yards. Their neighbors should be able to enjoy their own properties.

Case Date:

Neither of the EV chargers have worked for at least three weeks. In addition, the two spots available are very tight. It's very hard to park and have enough space to enter and exit your car and find room to organize the charging cord.

Blocked Street

Case Date:
7/30/2022

A truck full of trash has been parked outside of house for months. They live at the house but this is a nice neighborhood and they have a bunch of hoarding things outside house even. The car is parked in front of a stop sign which is super hard to get around when two cars are trying to go opposite directions.

Drainage or Runoff

317 W 14th ST

Case Date:
7/31/2022

There are multiple areas of stormwater runoff and pooling occurring on my property due to the development and ensuing increased runoff produced by the adjacent property at 910 N Madison St. My observations of increased water on my property come from regrading of the property to be higher than mine, a capped drain, building on the N-S alleyway that used to serve as a way for runoff to flow to the street, and redirection of water onto my properties via gutters, tubing, and installed drainage flows that direct onto my property on the north and northeast side of the 910 N Madison property. This has caused flooding in my basement, yard, and driveway that was not there prior to the redevelopment of this property and the vacation of the alley. I have more photos of where the stormwater drainage from this property is deliberately directed onto my properties, but am not able to upload them here due to the limit of one photo. All of lots surrounding this home are now on the market for development at an increased density. My concern is for my current situation and for the increased drainage issues that will come from further densification without mitigation to protect me and my surrounding neighbors. I would appreciate someone to come out to my property to see the current situation and drains installed by the City that are not functioning to protect my properties at 317 W 14th and 920 N Madison from damage by stormwater runoff.
