Streetlight at the intersection of 2nd Street and South Walker Street is not functioning properly. I was forced to make a right hand turn as the light refused to turn green. I sat and watched the timer on the crosswalk allowing people to walk across. Count down to zero. While waiting at this light, I also had another vehicle approach for behind and sit behind me while I sat through a another cycle and it still did not change from red. This needs to be fixed. I have also noticed many of the lights around town require a vehicle in the straight away lane. When you are making a left hand turn in the left turn lane. There is no reason there are no sensors for the left turn lane on many of the streets in Bloomington. One example of these streets is West Gifford road turning left onto Curry Pike. If it is 2:00 in the morning and I'm in the left turn lane and there will not be a another vehicle in the straight away lane, then there needs to be a sensor that allows the light to turn green. Even though there's no vehicle in the straight away lane left turn lane signal that actually register you are there are important too!

I’m writing to request the completion of unfinished sidewalks and the addition of some crosswalks on the west side of Bloomington. The first is an unfinished stretch of sidewalk along the east side of Curry Pike from Industrial Avenue to the intersection of 2nd St./45. The sidewalk dead-ends before reaching the intersection, and there is no crosswalk at the intersection to allow pedestrians to cross safely from the north side of 2nd St./45 to the south side, or vice versa. The second is a stretch of sidewalk along the north side of 2nd St. from Liberty Drive to Industrial Avenue. This sidewalk is overgrown and near unusable and dead-ends before reaching Industrial Avenue. Moreover, the intersection at Liberty Drive and 2nd St. has a crosswalk on only the north side (going east-west) and does not allow pedestrians to cross safely from the south to north side of 2nd St., or vice versa. Lastly, the sidewalk on the west side of Curry Pike does not connect between Lamplighter Mall Ct. and Glen Oaks Drive, and connecting these stretches of sidewalk would provide better access to 3rd street and the neighborhoods along Curry Pike. It would be much appreciated if the city could complete these stretches of sidewalk and make the area more walkable for those of us who do not have other modes of transportation or who simply prefer to walk the shorter distances to reach businesses and services that are close to home. So I know you guys at the city you're busy you know making sure taxes go up and making sure you get your yearly raises adjusted for inflation but I know for a fact that this traffic light, at This intersection has been reported multiple times that it cycles through a red light every 20 seconds you guys think maybe somebody can come over here and fix this. But judging by how none of the intersection lights are timed anyways I'm sure this is probably something that's been done on purpose for all your bullshit about global warming but half the lights around town soon as one goes green the one right in front of it goes red so but I'm par with your other bullshit

Sidewalk needs grinding

After multiple attempts to ask property management at Reserve on Third to fix broken refrigerators, ovens that are causing fires, electric coming on and off in random apartments and to fix broken fire alarms, it is going unnoticed and it is a safety concern for all residents. At this time I am speaking for building 11 3rd floor, but there are others as well.

The signal at this intersection was set for a number of years so that it was traffic activated. Recently, this has been changed so that that light switches to red on Patterson (for quite a long time!) even when there are no cars waiting on Fairview - which is almost all the time. This holds up traffic on Patternson, which often backs up, sometimes to a depth of six or seven cars, and occasionally enough that the last cars in line can't make it through the intersection until the next cycle of the light. The city did this a few years ago with this light, only to change the light back to traffic-activated status after a few months. Has the lesson of that time now been forgotten?? Time to go back to things the way they were a couple of months ago! Leave well enough alone, people!

Reserve on Third property management is refusing to fix ovens that catch fire, fire alarms that continuously go off and just tell residents to hit the silence button and electric is coming and going - shorting out. This is after multiple complaints for almost 2 years. Particularly building 11 as I can not speak for all, but I feel that inspections need to happen for resident safety.
