Hello, I would like to give feedback on some unfortunate observations recently on Kirkwood Avenue and the surrounding streets. This took place last Friday evening around 8:30. We took a stroll after dinner to walk around the downtown area, and it was the first time in 20 years of living here, I felt unsafe. I witnessed people doing drugs, drinking on the street, and what appeared to be a drug deal, right on Kirkwood. I have to say I have come to expect public intoxication from college age students, but I think the police do a very good job of handling those cases. The people involved in the activities I mentioned are not college students. Most looked like they could be homeless or struggling in some way. I understand there is no easy solution. These people need therapy, but they have to be willing to try to improve their lives. I'm not advocating arresting the people. I do think a stronger police presence is needed in these busy areas. I'd recommend posting cadets or others in uniforms strategically in the area. Maybe better lighting and security cameras would help. Thanks, Aaron Perry

Usually I'm don't usually complain about the police department as you all do amazing work around the city. But this morning had to be the most terrifying thing I've encountered. At about 6:45am I'm getting ready to take my dog out, and whenever I take her out before daylight I'm always aware of my surroundings, as I'm always afraid something is going to happen, and in this city you never know. I open the door to go out and noticed my dog is a little more anxious than usually. An out of the corner of my eye I notice this man in all black coming up from behind my house in my yard, and between my car and the neighbors fence doesn't say one word to me as noted it was dark out. Now at this point being in dark clothing and in my yard, I literally thought I was going to have a panic attack cause i had no idea who it was and hurried my dog back inside. Had literally no idea this dude was a police officer as he didn't say a word to me and on that side of the house you can't see his patrol car. So when I go back in and calm myself down, I look out the window towards the other side of my house and notice his patrol car. I don't mind the police being in my yard for whatever reason but at least they could of done was said something when I walked out. Is this standard for you to be in someones yard and not announce yourself? I dont know cause I'm not a police officer. But it would have been great to know as they literally scared me. Cars parking illegally and in the road to go to Starbucks causing traffic issues.

There's a white Ford Ranger that's been parked in front of 313 E 12th from 5 days now without moving. I placed a penny on the left rear tire of the vehicle Friday evening and it is still there. City code provides that vehicles left on the street without moving are consider abandoned after 72 hours. I live in 313 and my fiancée and I would like to park where this truck is, but it's effectively taking up two parking spaces. Thank you.

Someone in the camper has set up a campsite at the end of Runkles Way. They’ve been there about 10 days.

The people living at this address were throwing glass bottles into the street around 2 am. I went out to ask them to stop, they told me "f*ck off" and continued throwing glass bottles into the street near parked cars. There were also tons of beer cans and other trash.
