Traffic Suggestions

2990 E Covenanter DR

I am requesting speed bumps for Covenanter Drive, between College Mall Road and Clarizz Blvd. This is residential area with two large apartment complexes. It's also a heavily traveled road for buses, bikes and vehicles, as well, as pedestrians. Many use it as a way to cut through the area or to reach nearby apartment complexes, the mall, the large Kroger, or medical offices. Speeding is a concern. Line of sight can also be issue with two bus stops, curbside parking, the road's curve and change in elevation. I think speed bumps would help the issue, just like it has done on Covenanter Drive, going west from College Mall to High Street.

Hello, I am re-developing the property @ 3000 South Walnut. The location is where the former Southern Winds Hotel and Roosters club were located. The property at the beginning a workout facility and a chiropractors office. AS you pull out from the property and are going to turn left (North) and cross traffic, there are two trees located to the north on the side of the road. When cars are coming South and I am turning to the North, it is difficult to see whats coming and that is where the speed limit changes from 30 to 40mph, which is the place many seems to start speeding up. We will have more traffic than ever entering and leaving the property right from the beginning and even more as the property continues to be redeveloped overtime after the initial building and business's are active. A stop light right around there of course would be superb for the property but probably could never happen due to the traffic that occur that comes over the hill when people are traveling South down South Walnut. With that in mind I was hoping the two large trees could be taken down so it is much safer at that point because of the visibility that would open up. One tree is directly in from of the property and the other is directly in front on an older apartment complex that has around 10 apartments in it, it looks like. Would this be possible? Or maybe we could plant a couple new tress which would be much smaller and take several years to grow out? Of course that problem would show up again several years from now but it would take care of it presently for sevevral years. I am just worried about such a great new area being redeveloped for the area and future to have potential traffic issues with people being able to see when pulling out of the property. There was construction on Sare Rd. a while ago and there is still a sign posted on our rd. There is no longer any construction so we are hoping the sign can be removed.

Line of Sight

I submitted a report earlier this week, but have an address and a clearer picture of the problem area. This stretch of green is along Sare Road and is the responsibility of the owner of the address given. However, due to inattenttion, entering Sare Road from Spicewood Lane is hazardous to someone driving a car heading north. If you are in a truck or SUV, your line of sight is much better. There is now a great deal of traffic on Sare Road at all times during the day, traveling above the speed limit in many cases, that pulling out onto Sare Road is scary and dangerous.

2873 S Walnut Street PIKE

Our street has no street sign (or stop sign). I live in Winslow Crossing and we don't have a sign at the intersection of Henderson & S Walnut St Pike (nor do we have a stop sign leaving our neighborhood) and it has resulted in a lot of confusion in the slightly more than year I have lived here since I purchased 2851 S Walnut Street Pike. Included are friends/family being unable to locate the address (we have no neighborhood sign and my HOA when I contacted them is in no hurry to get one), when I called for a non-emergency police issue he couldn't find the neighborhood, packages have nearly been sent back or just plain delivered to the wrong address because my address "doesn't exist" (because they can't find it). So I'm wondering what it would take to get a street name sign and hopefully also a stop sign, installed at the main intersection to help with the confusion. Please let me know if there's anything I can do about this because it's becoming quite frustrating! Thank you, Denise J. Humphries

This weekend we WILL be trimming the trees around the sidewalk inside our cul-de-sac. However, we along with all of our neighbors are not happy with the "no mow" grass that is on Sare Road outside of our property. Matt Smethurst is who told us it was "no mow" and would stay lower than 8" in height. It did not stay short and is now hard to see around and looks awful. I tried to email back to Matt off of our original communication and his email bounced back as not active. Could someone please help with this?

Excessive Growth

Plants and trees overhang much of the sidewalk on the west side of S. Sare Rd. between Buttonwood and Rogers. The sidewalk is passable but more than half of it is blocked throughout parts of this path. Thank you!

Utility Construction Projects

Gas? Workers dug up multiple parts of my lawn and driveway. This was two weeks ago. They said they were going to come back and fix everything but obviously that hasn’t happened. In the dirt is ground pieces of the old driveway including baseball sized chunks. We are also selling the house so this is hiring our home value - no one wants to buy a house with a broken chunk of driveway.
