The sidewalks between the B-Line Trail and Madison Street at the 3rd Street bridge are getting overgrown. Both sidewalks on the north and south sides of 3rd Street running west from the trail to Madison have low hanging trees and overgrown shrubs. There is also a lot of loose sand on the south sidewalk of 3rd Street overpass. As the only way onto the Trail at 3rd, this all makes for an adventure. On my Bicycle I have to be very careful. I'd like to see this trimmed. I bike commute on the trail from the south to the area of 3rd and Madison. My roommate bike commutes to Cowork. I see others use the sidewalks too. Could be much safer. The intersection of Burks Drive and Walnut Street needs to be crossed by pedestrians and cyclists fairly often, but there is lots of high speed traffic on that road. Pedestrians coming from the residential areas around Burks have no way to safely cross Walnut Street. The sidewalk on the east side of walnut is currently closed, but it is missing several sections even when it is open, so you can't even walk along Walnut to the crossing at Rhorer Road. This problem will be exacerbated by the new library branch. Residents east of Walnut will have no way to safely and easily reach the library except by car. There needs to be a light and crosswalk of some sort installed so that it is passable.

the multi use path or trail shown on https://bloomington.in.gov/arcgis/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=f262775229f74b349c853bd13ad86841 which is East Moores Pike between Clarizz and Fenbrook does not exist. People go there expecting one. The sidewalk there is ok but not a multi use path.

In the transition from Longview Ave. to E. 7th St., the asphalt multi-use lane turns into a double-wide cement sidewalk. I've always stayed on the path because it links directly to the underpass at the bridge and seems and extension of the bike path. But today someone told me, "Get off the sidewalk idiot!" I pride myself on following the rules of bicycling. AQm I right or wrong to be using that stretch of cement? Also, Smith Road between 3rd St. and Moore's Pike is a disaster for bicyclists--way too narrow to safely bike on the road, but only a cement sidewalk on the west side, which then vanishes to become a multi-use path on the WEST side of the road, which then vanishes again at the corner of Moore's Pike to become a sidewalk traveling west. How can my kids safely ride their bikes down Smith Road!?

On the south east corner of the intersection of Henderson St. and Brenda Ln the sidewalks around the bus stop have some very low hanging tree branches that obstruct clear passage along the sidewalk. It would be great to see this get trimmed back.

Responded... Hi Nick. First of all, thanks for submitting this uReport. The more folks that say something about it, the better. Second, I know this person and his mother is actually the chair of the Council for Community Accessibility. While neither have directly complained about this issue it has been on our radar as other people have seen him try to navigate that stretch of Smith Road. So I went out and did a full survey from 3rd to 10th Streets and reported every issue along that route. Then I participated in a discussion about it with the Engineering and Planning. It's not so easy to address this one because it's very narrow and can't be widened. It would also be fairly costly to do the whole route. But we have placed it on the sidewalk priority list that was submitted to Planning departments for their next round of sidewalk construction. We won't know how that very limited budget gets spent for a while, but sure hope it includes addressing this one. So that's where we stand on it. Fingers are crossed! It's folks like you who call this out that might make it happen sooner versus later. So thank you! Michael (staff liaison to the Council for Community Accessibility)

No sidewalk available when turning left onto 10th Street off of N. Smith Road. I often come close to getting hit by cars when walking a short-section on this part of 10th Street that has no sidewalk on either side. As a disabled person, I find this even more frustrating. Please consider installing sidewalk on the South-side of 10th Street on this section (on the back-side of the self storage facility on N. Smith Road, that may vbe seen from 10th Street). Thank you.
