We live on Southern Oaks Drive (between Sare Road and Oakmount Drive). Drivers frequently use our street as a "cut through." We have many children in our neighborhood and, this afternoon, a five year old boy riding his bicycle was almost hit by a driver speeding through this area. The driver did not even slow down, rather, they swerved to go around him. He swerved the same direction and they almost hit him.
Our request is for speed bumps or some sort of traffic calming device to be place on South Southern Oaks Drive before a child is seriously hurt or even killed. This situation will only worsen as more apartments, and businesses are built on Sare Road.

Vehicle come off Bloomfield rd on to Allen St an Accelerate way beyond the 25 mph speed and there are some cars and trucks with very loud exhaust that you can hear them as they get farther away. There are 6 intersection in this stretch of Allen st. Could the City place some traffic calming device on Allen St from Bloomfield Rd to Adams st?
I have requested this 6 months ago and have not heard anything.

Traffic using the stretch of South Park Ridge Rd between Morningside Drive and E 46 is consistently traveling at a very high rate of speed. This has always been an issue and now compounded with additional traffic utilizing this pass due to the temporary closure of E46 and Smith Rd. Attempting to back out of my driveway safely has become a real problem as there is a slight curve north of my driveway which creates a bit of a blind spot. Wondering if there can be some sort of traffic calming structures, caution lights or something that will help deter the speed of the traffic through this stretch. Thank you.

The whole intersection is a disaster, but the particular problem I think should be addressed is the complete lack of lane markers as you approach 3rd street. The left and right lanes end as you approach the light, and there is literally nothing until the very end. Early on, one should be clearly marked straight and right turn / left turn only or Right turn only / Straight&left turn only. Lines should then continue to ensure clarity, and create accountability in the event of an accident. For example, if I'm in the right hand lane and intend to go straight, but the person in the left hand lane also intends to go straight, who has the right of way? Based on the current setup, there seems to be no wrong or right answer. I would appreciate someone looking into this.
Thanks for your time.

In the past 8 months we have lived at our residence, two of our cars have been hit. We utilize street parking on 2nd street. My roommate had her mirror taken off a couple of months ago and mine has just now been hit. I would like to submit a recommendation that at least part of second street be a one-way, as this is obviously not an isolated incident. We often hear people honking outside of our house as they try to pass each other. We attempt to park as closely to the curb as possible to mitigate the possibility of our cars being hit but clearly people cannot drive. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

I am requesting that a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator be installed in a location along W Woodlawn Ave, somewhere between S Weatherstone Ln and E Wilson St.
The speed limit on S Woodlawn Ave is 25 MPH, but the average vehicle's speed in front of my approximate address is closer to 45 MPH, with many vehicles regularly reaching speeds over 60 MPH and even 80 MPH at least daily.
The reason why the speed limit is 25 MPH on S Woodlawn Ave is because of its proximity to Indiana University foot and bike commuters, Bryan Park, the Bryan Park Pool, a bus stop, and Union Elementary School. In addition to these elements, S Woodlawn Ave is also hilly which contributes to dangers associated with limited lines of sight between vehicles and pedestrians. Being a thoroughfare between Hillside Ave and streets north of it, traffic naturally flows faster than 25 MPH especially with the only stop sign between 1st St and Hillside Ave being at Sheridan Ave. Drivers frequently “floor” their vehicles through S Woodlawn Ave, and the police speed enforcement seems to never pull anyone over for speeding.
For the above reasons, the current traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave is incompatible with its intended use. Installing a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator (for both northbound and southbound traffic) will hopefully greatly reduce thoroughfare excessive speeds. I am worried that this is a formula for someone to get hurt and it is only a matter of time unless the City does something about this. Please at least conduct a traffic study.
Thank you for receiving my note, and I will be following up on this.

I have lived on this street (S Palmer Avenue between Hillside and Grimes) for going on nine years now, and myself and my neighbors are concerned with the speed many non-residential drivers use on this span of Palmer. The majority of drivers maintain a speed far too fast down our street. This is especially troubling because half of our street has not sidewalks and many Bryan Park residents use the street as a walking path. I would like to request either a speed-monitoring study or the installation of traffic-slowing measures on this stretch of Palmer.

City needs to install a delineator along the dedicated bike lane that spans 3rd street between Emerson Ave & Indiana Ave. An extremely unsafe traffic pattern is forming where motorists are unsafely pulling into the bike lane hundreds of time a week, constantly causing near-misses and even some small accidents. This is a really bad accident waiting to happen.

Hello,
I've been talking to several residents of Sunny Slopes who have children who play outside. We have been having many issues with cars speeding down this road, and around the curves. We believe it would be very beneficial to get a few speed bumps through this area, and would be grateful if you'd take this into consideration. Thank you.

The intersection of Burks Drive and Walnut Street needs to be crossed by pedestrians and cyclists fairly often, but there is lots of high speed traffic on that road. Pedestrians coming from the residential areas around Burks have no way to safely cross Walnut Street. The sidewalk on the east side of walnut is currently closed, but it is missing several sections even when it is open, so you can't even walk along Walnut to the crossing at Rhorer Road. This problem will be exacerbated by the new library branch. Residents east of Walnut will have no way to safely and easily reach the library except by car. There needs to be a light and crosswalk of some sort installed so that it is passable.
