graffiti on this businesses wall is always here
Yesterday morning, right after my kids jumped on the bus, a city waste truck came to do pick-up with a confederate flag license in the front dash. Please have it removed. For some, it is a symbol of hate and violence.Thank you
Failure to pick up Trash. I am incredibly disappointed in the city's handling of trash today as we switch to the new system of trash pick up. Nowhere in the handouts given to us about the new system did it say that we can not start using the new bins right away but then today as you drive all over Bloomington all you can see is full cans of trash with a "notice" that the trash was not picked up because it should have been set out in the old way with trash tags and such. This is infuriating. Now we all have to keep our festering, rotting garbage for another week because it was NEVER stated that this couldn't be done immediately. Even your own website simply states: "The new modernized system will formally go into operation beginning on October 2, 2017." This message does not at all clearly say that we have to wait until then to use the new bins. If anything it just makes it seem like it may take that long to get everyone bins and set up properly. Also, and maybe the most maddening part was the fact that when the new recycling bins were used THE RECYCLING WASN'T PICKED UP EITHER. What possible excuse is there for this? We don't even pay for recycling, it's not like the trash where, apparently, if you took it today it was for free. Now we have to wait TWO WEEKS for recycling for literally no reason. Maybe next time you will have learned how to make things clear so that the city isn't literally overflowing with garbage. Your very disappointed resident, Alyssa Ball
Christmas lights — why are the trees on the square no longer lighted? Those were really pretty when lit up.
trash in bloom along roads is bad in a num of places. south patterson, sare road around rinwick. walnut pike from winslow to rohr road. and more. i pick up where i can but cant do it alone. please make this important to the city. bloomington was a beautiful place. its getting overlooked.
The location looks like a junkyard a lot of junk on the outside of the house
Hello. I am a Bloomington resident residing at 110 1/2 W 6th St. My apartment entrance is in an alleyway off of 6th between Walnut and College. While this alley has normal amounts of debris, there seem to be many unsafe wires dangling from the various poles and buildings. My main concern is with the alley behind my building. The entrance is off of Walnut between "Btown Diner" and "Samira" restaurants. There is an abundance of trash, grease, vomit, bugs, defecation, and cigarettes throughout the space that causes a repulsive smell and attracts many rodents. This is a very unsanitary environment that workers from the businesses(restaurants especially) on 6th Street take their breaks in. I am not sure the best course of action but I would suggest having the businesses clean their trash bins in addition to having the city power wash the grease and other various fluids off the pavement. I would appreciate a response. Thank you, Ryan
Greetings: I am the Director of the Farmer House Museum and I would like to address the safety concern in our ally that connect between Morton and College at 10th Street. I have a detailed video taken by our board member that shows the area of concern and safety. We have applied for an AARP grant to secure funding to repair and update the parking pad and the alley inbetween the Woodburn House and the Farmer House museum. At the Farmer House Museum we cannot repair the edges of our parking pad without the evaluation from the City of Bloomington. Thank you for your time and consideration. You can contact me at 812-336-5597 or purcellemily@ymail.com Emily Purcell, Director
This is a thank you to the persons responsible for trash pickup today. We are overrun with trash and trash cans overflowing and the sanitation crews are picking it up. We could not be more grateful to the crews and hope this message gets to them. Thank you!
