Potholes, Other Street Repair
529 N College AVE
- Case Date:
- 3/21/2022
Greetings: I am the Director of the Farmer House Museum and I would like to address the safety concern in our ally that connect between Morton and College at 10th Street. I have a detailed video taken by our board member that shows the area of concern and safety. We have applied for an AARP grant to secure funding to repair and update the parking pad and the alley inbetween the Woodburn House and the Farmer House museum. At the Farmer House Museum we cannot repair the edges of our parking pad without the evaluation from the City of Bloomington. Thank you for your time and consideration. You can contact me at 812-336-5597 or purcellemily@ymail.com Emily Purcell, Director

Hello, there is excessive growth and illegal dumping behind my house at 1221 West 6th street. Someone has thrown a toilet back there. You can easily access the area via an alley way to the parking area behind the houses on Kirkwood. Thank you for your attention to this area.

Yesterday morning, right after my kids jumped on the bus, a city waste truck came to do pick-up with a confederate flag license in the front dash. Please have it removed. For some, it is a symbol of hate and violence.Thank you

Failure to pick up Trash.
I am incredibly disappointed in the city's handling of trash today as we switch to the new system of trash pick up. Nowhere in the handouts given to us about the new system did it say that we can not start using the new bins right away but then today as you drive all over Bloomington all you can see is full cans of trash with a "notice" that the trash was not picked up because it should have been set out in the old way with trash tags and such. This is infuriating. Now we all have to keep our festering, rotting garbage for another week because it was NEVER stated that this couldn't be done immediately. Even your own website simply states: "The new modernized system will formally go into operation beginning on October 2, 2017." This message does not at all clearly say that we have to wait until then to use the new bins. If anything it just makes it seem like it may take that long to get everyone bins and set up properly.
Also, and maybe the most maddening part was the fact that when the new recycling bins were used THE RECYCLING WASN'T PICKED UP EITHER. What possible excuse is there for this? We don't even pay for recycling, it's not like the trash where, apparently, if you took it today it was for free. Now we have to wait TWO WEEKS for recycling for literally no reason.
Maybe next time you will have learned how to make things clear so that the city isn't literally overflowing with garbage.
Your very disappointed resident,
Alyssa Ball
