The drain covers in the 300 block of E. 7th street come loose and pop off whenever a car drives over them. The road is so narrow on the street due to bike lane that the west bound traffic comes too close to the curb and hits the drain covers. Can the city weld them down so they don't pop off?
The covers on the rain drains make a terrible racket, I appreciate the fact that they are secure and will not pop off but the racket in the middle of night is too much! I think a foam pad under the grate would work. Much appreciated!!
Dear city of Bloomington, While I'm grateful your team has looked into this, the issue is far from being resolved. The repair work did not make any improvement in the noise. The remedy that was done the first time worked for awhile. The grate needs to be opened and cleaned out so that it seats properly. A rubber ring or some kind of padding needs to be placed on the contact points to reduce the vibration. The loud noise is going on 24/7. A Roto Rooter plumber opened the two manholes on the street in front of my house and said that the sewage line it isn't emptying appropriately. This can cause serious problems. Would you please check on that issue? Thank you.

This is my second report on this issue: Water meter protruding approx. 2.5 in the *middle* of the sidewalk near 438 W Somersbe Place (county). I have seen numerous people trip and one person fell but fortunately was not seriously injured. It is only a matter of time until someone is. The liability is yours. In the westbound lane of E Second, just after the wooden bridge, once again the manhole cover has developed a hole. Also, potholes again are showing at the intersection of E Second and Eastside.
