An area of new sod immediately adjacent to the sidewalk and between the sidewalk and street has collapsed (in some places to a depth of 9 inches) in such a way that it is unsafe for bicyclists or pedestrians who may veer off the sidewalk even very briefly. We believe this sod was laid after the ground was dug for installation of the fiber cable for Gigabit Now. We (University Baptist Church) are not certain of the best agency to contact about the problem, and we are hoping that you will either take care of it or direct us to the correct people to contact. If someone chooses to respond to this concern by phone, please note that we have very limited office hours, but they could leave a voice message. Email is actually best. Thank you! The sidewalk ends abruptly in a very dangerous intersection. This turn needs to be improved for pedestrian safety. The sidewalk should not be on only one side of the road, particularly in such a dangerous location for pedestrians to cross the road, just to have the sidewalk reappear only meters away.
There's a precarious dropoff (7-8') into the drainage creek just a few feet away (east) from the sidewalk on RCA Park Drive just north of Countryside, and a few yards into Susie Street. A barrier of some sort to provide added safety would be advisable. Thanks!
Sidewalk on Smith is being encroached upon by undergrowth
The city or a utility installed a new sidewalk. There are multiple pieces of rebar sticking straight up about eight inches on each side. The sidewall is marked with two orange construction cones. I presume the workers will be back at some point, but I don’t know when. Halloween brings a lot of foot traffic in this neighborhood, and I think folks may ignore the cones. It would be greatly appreciated if the rebar could be trimmed or otherwise handled before then. Thank you.
The sidewalk is covered in mud and becomes hazardous when wet.
Deer cross S. Rogers St. daily in one particular location, on the north side of the 2129 S Rogers St property. An increasing number of cars fly down the road all day and lots of people use the sidewalk so its a risk not only to the deer but to motorists and pedestrians. I am requesting a deer crossing sign be installed on both sides of the road. My mom lives at 2219 S Rogers St. and we frequently see deer and their babies nearly get hit (and have been hit). If you face 2129 S Rogers, you will see the area on the far left side of the property where they cross near the trees. Thank you for considering this signage. I didn't have a photo but can provide any other helpful info if needed.
So you're doubling the width of the sidewalk from 5ft to 10ft for a recreational path. Great. But does that mean you've also doubled the amount of sidewalk I'm now responsible to clear of snow in the winter? Should I be dumping tea into Lake Monroe?
The street view is fully obstructed by weeds at the intersection of Euclid and 2nd street. When going South on Euclid and attempting to make a left hand turn (east) on 2nd, you cannot see oncoming traffic to your left due to vegetation between the sidewalk and the road. I have almost gotten in an accident twice at this intersection due to pulling out and jot seeing an oncoming car which was blocked by the weeds. This is especially a problem for cars versus trucks due to the height.
