A couple weeks ago cbu dug a hole at 11th&college and abandoned a sign in the bike lane on the south side of 11th just west of college. It moved to the sidewalk, and i reported it as blocking the sidewalk on april 5. Now it has disintegrated and moved back to the bike lane. Its black base is almost invisible at night and poses a mortal danger to cyclists. You wont like where i put it if you dont take care of ot within 24 hours.
The intersection at north 10th, Smith road, and Russell road is one of the most dangerous in Bloomington. I believe there needs to be a traffic light there to allow people to turn from Smith Road. It's almost impossible for drivers coming off Smith Road to turn either right or left onto 10th or Russell, especially during rush hour traffic. Visibility is poor because 10th street curves in unusual ways at that intersection, and none of the two-way traffic wants to yield. Bus traffic from 10th Street compounds the problem. VERY disappointed in the new sidewalk curbs at 4th and Indiana. The curbs are to high for handicap individuals trying to correct they have made a mess of the new sidewalk areas. One sidewalk has been chipped significantly trying to correct. Very poor job.
There is no paved sidewalk; it's just a bunch of horribly laid slabs of stone. How was this even allowed, especially in downtown?! This is not wheelchair accessible, and is dangerous to all others. Please put in a paved sidewalk here so wheelchaired people don't have to turn around and cross the street just to get by.
When does the city intend on finishing this section of road? Ever since the bridge was completed it doesn't look like any work has been done at all to finish this one bit of road at all, and it's been months! East-West traffic is already a nightmare for this county because of the construction on I-69, Second, and Third Street, and yet the one route that can really act as a good alternate route to help alleviate some of that traffic is hampered by this abandoned project. While the detours tell people to go down towards 11th Street, we all know that way too many people are cutting through the neighborhood where there are plenty of children trying to play outside. This is nothing but ridiculous!
I just took possession of a home I bought as sidewalk construction on E. Morningside was being completed. The home is at 4021 E. Morningside. It is my understanding the City redid part of the driveway after having to destroy it for sidewalk work. Unfortunately it appears a corner of the drive (front right / SE) is already cracking/chipping/spalling (see photo). I'm requesting the City patch this up before it continues to flake (not huge now but would like addressed so as not to spread) as an area driven over frequently. Otherwise looks fantastic and very happy with the new sidewalk and drive portion. Great neighborhood addition.
Weed bush in the ditch on the north side of the street is growing over the road, and impairs vision going around that curve.
Utility cuts across Crescent Rd need patched & leveled or paved
"Head start" for pedestrians. Use the NYC trick, give walkers a 7 second head start before turning the light green. This intersection, the one on the bypass and 10th, and the Kirkwood Walnut crosswalk are just 3 places drivers ignore pedestrians as they only look at cars so they can make right turns. Please. They're going to run us over. Look at Saturdays NYtimes.
