These assholes have 7 unaltered pitbulls. They are breeding them (with no breeding license) that have attacked people and dogs, the most recent being a little neighbor dog that was viciously murdered by one of these pit bulls. They are keeping them in a trailer with 3 children. Animal control has been contacted many times, the sheriff's office has been called and NOTHING has happened!! What is it going to take?

Animal Control & Neglected Pets

On August 18th at around 8:15pm, two female puppies at Rev Earnest D. Butler Park were roaming free without a collar. The two dogs then followed my dog and I back to my home. I then loaded the dogs in my car and drove back to the park area and surrounding streets in hopes of finding someone looking for two lost dogs, but I found no one. I then went to the Bloomington " Animal lost and found" Facebook page and discovered that these dogs were found loose on August 1st, 2023, and returned to the owner (no name provided on the post). I then posted about the found dogs on the facebook page last night, to which the alleged owner, Nicole Lynn Davis, replied the following day around 11am and requested I call her immediately so that she can retrieve them. I have contacted the owner, but she has yet to reply. The phone number she provided is 812-509-4809. Assuming the owner respondes, I am concerned that I will be returning these dogs back into the hands of neglectful and irresponsible owners. These dogs are afraid to leave my side and seemed very relieved upon allowing them into my home.

Our office received concerns and some complaints related to excess crow activity and droppings along third street, and near/on Pi Beta Phi's property. Does the city provide any services to deter or move crow roosting sites away from residential buildings? We have been working with the chapter house on ideas and they have been power washing droppings but the issue reemerges. Thank you for any insight into potential remedies.

Hi Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington, I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood. Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it. Again, I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thanks. Best, Ingrid Faber 1104 S. Covenanter Drive Bloomington, IN 47401

The sidewalk in front of the dentist office at 221 east 7th street has a speed bump across it where the parking lot connects to 7th street. This is a tripping hazard for pedestrians.

Hi - I feel like the city needs to issue a warning to cyclists to take extra precautions when locking up their bike. On Monday around 11am, my $1200 bike was stripped of all of its parts that were not locked to the bike rack. This happened right outside my office in a somewhat busy parking lot, in downtown Bloomington, in broad daylight. From the security footage it took the person about 20 minutes. A police report was filed and the officer mentioned he'd seen similar cases recently. After posting about this on social media, I've now heard numerous cases of bikes either being stripped completely or partially during the day at various spots downtown over the past couple weeks. Had there been any media or warnings issued, I would have certainly brought my bike into my office, rather than risk losing most of it. I realize it's just a possession (and not a life) and can be replaced, but given that this seems to be a growing trend, a warning and increased awareness would be helpful.

I was going to the CASA office and then to B-foods last week. I wanted to park my bike at this convenient bike rack on the B-line, only to discover that I couldn't because of the stupid scooters. No, I don't want them obstructing the walks or preventing my use of bike racks!

3209 E 10th St, Bloomington, IN 47408, USA

Case Date:
3/26/2023

The intersection of Pete Ellis Dr./Discovery Parkway and 10th Street is used by residents of numerous apartment complexes, bus riders, and community members accessing the post office and the greenway that goes along 10th St. The intersection is necessary for access to Indiana University from Woodbridge and Fountain Park Apartments, which hosts many graduate students. However, there is no crosswalk, pedestrian lights, or sidewalk platforms to allow for safe crossing along this very busy intersection. Additionally, the traffic lights are not able to be seen from the four corners of the intersection, forcing pedestrians to make an educated guess on when to cross. In short, the intersection is dangerous and near impossible to cross. Would it be at all possible in the future to include a) a crosswalk b) a pedestrian crosswalk light c) sidewalk cutout/curb ramps on the two corners in which there is not one currently? Thank you so much for your consideration. We really appreciate it.

Please, would you replace the flexi-post on the 7-Line on the east side of Walnut next to La Una Cantina? The IU residential calendar has early arrivals starting August 2nd, so I think it would be a good idea to get it replaced before then. Thank you!
