Potholes, Other Street Repair

1917 E Marilyn DR

Case Date:
4/1/2021

Hi! I'm giving my neighbor's address rather than my own as hers is closer to the pothole. It is slightly west of 1917 E. Marilyn toward Nancy St.. There is a pothole that has been filled, but the filling substance is now collapsing into the pothole and there is small cavern-like opening. I suspect there is an issue with the sewer or pipes and am afraid that a larger portion of the road could soon be affected. I hope you are able to come out soon to check! Thank you so much! Jenny 2017 E. Marilyn

Potholes, Other Street Repair

1916 E Marilyn DR

Case Date:

Sorry to be a pain in the neck, but the pothole on Marilyn drive IS NOT fixed. I noticed the ticket is closed; perhaps there is some confusion. The first time I reported it, it was filled in the very next day. (Thanks for that!) However, the repair didn't work; the hole is back.

I believe that there is at least 10 people living at this large house. I constantly drive past and see all of the cars parked along the left side of their house and it is at least 4 cars daily not including the cars in their driveway!

At the intersection of Circle Dr and Ruby lane, 8 large plots of very tall decorative grass, along the Ruby Lane side of the property at 1717 Circle Dr, block the view of oncoming traffic from the east. These need to be removed.

The northwest corner of Nancy Street and Hillside Drive is overgrown in the city's right of way. It is currently unsafe for any cars heading/and turning south on Nancy Street onto Hillside Drive. Please trim the trees and bushes for a safer intersection for pedestrians, drivers, and passengers. Thank you.

Regarding uReport Case #183611: Nothing has been done about this issue (last communication was on 5/1/2023 by Michael Stewart). The issue: What looks like Bushes growing on the northwest corner of the intersection at High St and E Southdowns Dr are obstructing the view of cars on Southdowns wanting to pull out onto High Street. We cannot see cars in the southbound lane of High St until the last second before they reach the stop sign. Many drivers on High St don't come to a complete stop UNLESS they see a car on Southdowns. Please cut the bushes back so those of us on Southdowns can see what's coming from the north and cars on High St can see us further in advance, BEFORE they reach the stop sign.

The weeds are so overgrown at this address that it is really hard to see if you would like to turn from Nancy onto Hillside. This is a yearly problem.

Fire Hazards

1104 S Covenanter DR

Case Date:
11/5/2021

I am very concerned about this deliberate house burn at 1213 S. High Street. The burn is happening now as I write to you and I went outside to look at it and there is so much paint debris and soot on our property and on our house. It is covering our solar panels and I am seriously concerned about this as I am a two time cancer survivor and need to breathe this unnecessary toxic fumes. Will the city clean up this mess that the fire has caused on our property? I don't know why I should clean this mess that probably includes lead in the paint ans is unhealthy to breathe in. I decided to go inside so I don't have to breathe the toxic fumes regarding the burn. Who agreed to this burn that is happening in a very busy residential area? I thought the City Council and the mayor were very concerned about having Bloomington be green and thinking of the environment. This deliberate burn is not healthy for the atmosphere nor the residents who live nearby and have to breathe this toxic air. It just seems to be one thing after another that we have to deal with in regards to the city and their decision making and nothing favorable for us as city taxpayers. We would like somebody to clean up all the paint debris on our driveway and our solar panels. Ingrid Faber
