Accessibility Problem

Case Date:
3/3/2021

Just today, I noticed a 4, maybe 5 year old ridding his/her bike down 10th St., and the parents walking along seemed 'forced' to help child off bike, then "lift" bike onto sidewalk. As I use a walker, and to gain access to the BT 'stop'. I feel it best someone contact the BHA (Barrington Homeowners Association and enforce city laws of/for which they claimed to be "exempt" from, although I very much disagree. I consider this/them to be a well justified part of the City of Bloomington. IF asked/requested, I will take a picture of possible curb-cut or ramp sites.

City Construction Projects

Case Date:

Sherwood Oaks park - there is a hole in the asphalt on the drive into the park. It looks deep and it’s big enough that a person’s foot could get stuck in it. Not to be dramatic, but when I saw it, I thought it might be the start of a sinkhole.

Other

Case Date:
3/6/2021

Increasing numbers of homeless individuals are sleeping in their cars at the empty Kmart at night. People are now advertising it as a location online. That site needs City attention for redevelopment and monitoring. Eliminate the big box and know it is a great location for smart development close to the new hospital site for lodging, retail, restaurants, green space, and mixed-income housing. By the City not owning up to a solution for the unhoused it apparently is encouraging such individuals to encroach on private lands now. Find a designated park such as Switchyard with parking lots, green space, lights, and security to decriminalize sleeping. And even if not, put some effort into getting a large already commercially designated site back into active use in town. Thank you.
