Once again, the section of West 11th st between Adams St and Fountain Dr has become a speedway. Drivers CD are absolutely flying down the road. Captain Pedigo, I know you are stretched thin when it comes to number of officers, but could you do your best to set up radar sometime on this section of road? Our neighborhood would truly appreciate it.
During hard rains, water backs up in the southeast corner of my yard and comes into my garage and basement from the parking pad on the east and below grade through the wall to the north. The sidewalk running along the Clifton St. right of way is the east boundary of my property (see photo). Water simply can't move fast enough to the culvert you installed south of my property on the west side of the sidewalk. Is there anything you can do to alleviate this problem? I'm happy to discuss the details. Thank you.
The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. New street lamp on SE corner of 12th/Lincoln is WAY too bright, much brighter and whiter than the normal orange-ish lamps on other street light fixtures in the neighborhood. This one emits a lot of glare, blinding drivers as they attempt to navigate 12th Street, and causing pain if one happens to look directly at it. Worse, it casts light far beyond the actual intersection, flooding the houses in the vicinity with unwanted light all night long, preventing people from enjoying their porches in the evenings and early mornings. If the City refuses to switch the light to a normal soft light that can be tolerated, it seems reasonable that the light can at the very least be shaded so that the intense glare is only directed downward rather than flooding the neighbors' homes in all directions with unnatural, unhealthy, and offensive light. A similar lamp was recently installed at the 12th/Dunn intersection. The people who live near that intersection are probably experiencing a similar, unwelcome annoyance.
The City does not maintain the trees between the sidewalk and the street on Adams. The trees and brush are overgrown with invasive species and the local residents are spending hours and money trying to maintain the weeds/trees that are impeding their property. The sidewalk is not accessible because the City has not maintained their portion of the land between the sidewalk and the street.

At 802 E. Hillside Dr, there is a abandoned white sedan. I believe it’s a 1990’s Honda Civic. It’s parked in the side yard as well. Visible from the road.
A tenant in this house regularly drives the wrong way on 11th Street. To get to the parking spot in back, the approach should be from Washington (from the west) but instead she takes what she has decided is a convenient shortcut from Lincoln. This has caused near collisions multiple times with pedestrians who are walking on 11th street (which for some reason has no sidewalks in this block). Each time, she flippantly squeals, "Oh, sorry!" as if she didn't know better, even though she has been given a talking to about this several times. It is clearly marked "One Way" towards the east. Can the police give someone a ticket for something they did not actually witness? What is the best approach when entitled undergraduates regularly violate traffic regulations because they are inconsiderate, selfish, and feel the rules don't apply to them? This is a Chickering rental.
The hole (and patch)m that was drilled in the north east part of the intersection of S. Lincoln St and Dodds ST by the fiber install people has washed out with the latest heavy rain storm. To my undertstanding you might be patching in this area soon with the other Potholes that are along S. Lincoln Street and Wylie ST. Thank you for your help!
