I've recently noticed the Rail Trail between Country Club Drive and Gordon Pike has sections of large gravel (see attached photo). I appreciate that maintenance is being done, assuming the City is responsible for this work. But, I am concerned because this large gravel is inconsistent with the existing surface for the trail. As a bike commuter and runner on this section of the trail, I was disappointed to see large gravel appear on the surface. The Rail Trail is a great surface to run and walk on and commute on. These patches of large gravel pieces diminish it's utility and enjoyment. Are there plans to use large gravel more often on the trail? I request that the smaller, packed surface be maintained. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you about the maintenance of the trail. Have a great day.

The utilities Dept added a new electricity pole behind our property. I understand that these are necessary but the trucks dug deep ruts in our yard. The attached photo is an example of the damage. It does extend further. Also, a stake and line are placed in our property. Again, I understand that this may be necessary, but advanced notice should have been given, as we are in the process of placing a fence in that same spot. I look forward to hearing back, at least in regards to the yard damage. The property is at 700 w Cherokee Dr. And the empty lot to the side is my property as well. Thank you. Stephanie Johnson

612 w Cherokee Dr. Dog never witnessed outside on leash. While off leash dog is defecating in multiple neighbors' yards. Owners do not pick up excrement. Dog also digs holes in neighbors' yard due to being off leash and unsupervised. Dog is in the street while off leash, creating a hazard to the dog and drivers. The dog owners own front door and just let dog out. Dog is not aggressive but does run up and jump on anyone outside while owners are nowhere in sight. I have spoken to dog owner multiple time who seemed understanding regarding the safety risk posed to pedestrians, drivers, myself, and the dog. However no changes have been made. Dog has never been witnesses on a leash. The owner has really been witnessed accompanying the dog outside. The dog is medium sized black and while spotted.

The Rail Trail needs some work! It needs YOU to show it some love. There are some problems . . . FIRST: Entering the Rail Trail from Country Club, the trees / shrubs at the parking lot are overgrowing into the sidewalk / path along the parking lot. You can almost not see the handicap parking sign from the overgrowth, too. The sidewalk is being impeded horizontally as well as vertically from branches hanging down. SECOND: There are numerous low hanging branches between Country Club and Gordon Pike on the trail. On a bicycle, these require ducking or maneuvering around. This can be hazardous. THIRD: There is a dead tree that is leaning over the trail, resting its top on another tree across the trail. That is between Country Club and Gordon Pike. This is maybe 1/3 to 1/2 a mile south of the Country Club Drive parking lot. This seems like it is ripe for falling on someone or blocking the trail, as it hangs there perilously. FOURTH: Someone goofed and put oversized gravel on the trail to fix some holes. This gravel is not safe on the trail for multiple reasons. One reason is that it is looser than the other gravel, so it is a change in surface that can cause bikes or walkers to lose balance. Also, the gravel is bigger so it is tougher to ride or walk or run across, and could cause injuries. As a result, people swerve around it and try to avoid it. This is causing people going in one direction to impede those going in the other at times. Can we get some smaller gravel / fill that matches the existing bed of the trail put in place? Having that big gravel is a total disaster creating multiple problems. I've almost lost balance / control on my bike in that bigger gravel. It needs to be replaced ASAP.
