Few motorists are paying for parking with the meters after 5 in the 300 block of E. 7th street, costing lost revenue for the city.
This meter took 3 quarters without registering them - I had to move to the one next door.
This vehicle has a tarp over the smashed windshield and has been parked for 2 days on Pine Street north of Kirkwood. Abandoned?
Meter S42 in the parking lot between 4th and 5th streets is not functioning. I put money in the meter, and the green light did not come on. At that time, I saw a note in the window that said the meter is not functioning. I left my car there for the next hour anyway because I paid to park. The plate on my silver Kia is RWR409.
I received a parking ticket when I visited the city stating I was parked in a "resident parking only" zone. I had to search the area to find the sign indicating this restriction, as it was totally obscured by tree branches/leaves, and I was not parked directly under the sign. Not sure how out of town visitors are supposed to follow the parking restrictions when they are not posted in observable manner. I believe this ticket should be forgiven, as no one who parked there would have seen the sign. Meter had 31 min. Quarter increased to 46, but next two quarters did not advance time
Parking meter on north side of 7th between Walnut and College — has coin slot and says coins accepted, but digital readout says card only. I didn’t see the digital readout until I had already put money in the coin slot. Had to move my car to another parking place. I know this has also happened to other people on other blocks. What’s the deal? So inconvenient.
Almost all parking meters around the courthouse square have been spray painted to prevent viewing of the screen and sprayed with a hard foam on the key and payment portions of the meter.
