Water main leak
cover on water meter is not secure, could slide off
Reported to Mike Carter via email 1/11/18. Reporting to uReport as well. FYI. With the new snow, it’s a lot easier to see where the leak is at. I hope you had a nice long weekend… Best, Rick On Jan 11, 2018, at 2:27 PM, Rick Birch Dietz wrote: Mike, here’s the scoop on the leak we discussed. Thanks! I live at 1500 E Maxwell Ln. I’m at the SE corner of Maxwell and Sheridan. There appears to be water pooling on east side of Sheridan near the western entrance to my driveway. I noticed ice here a few times last winter but thought it was just frozen road runoff and it wasn’t super cold last year so ice build-up wasn’t significant. But it’s been well below freezing and there shouldn’t be standing water. I didn’t observe anything like this in the spring, summer or fall. I assume there’s a small water line leak underground, perhaps underneath the road. The road is cracked along the edge so there may be some freeze/thaw going on. It doesn’t seem to be an emergency — the flow seems pretty minimal but it does generate some ice south of the wet area when below freezing. I wanted to report this now that I realize what is going on. I placed a stake with orange flagging tape in the area where it seems like water is coming to the surface. Thanks for looking into this. I signed up for billing and paid all my past bills over the phone, but I was told that I would be sent a login number for the portal. I haven't received this login, and therefore have been unable to pay my utility.
Extremely high bill that was a problem last month, and is again a problem this month. Im not paying for water I didn’t use. I can’t afford it, I’m a college student. The bill went from $40-50 to $250-$350. This is ridiculous. We usually average 4-5 thousand gallons.. The first high bill was 26 thousand gallons, the second (most recent) bill is 20 thousand gallons. Maintenance for my apartment has come and checked everything, nothings wrong. Has to be a bigger problem. The bill needs to be waived, and the problem needs to be fixed. I live at Hoosier Court Apartments, apartment 519.
Online Payment Portal Not working
I have been paying my bill online for years. Now the site doesn't work and there is no help file or contact info. It has rejected 3 credit cards with no explanation. Find a better/more flexible vendor. I can't pay my bill. Grr. Michael Wilkerson 1010 S. Hawthorne Dr.
We had our landlord come and check out the house and they didnt find any leaks. We’ve been gone all month so there’s no way we could’ve used that much water. What can we do to ensure that we don’t have to pay a huge bill for water we couldn’t have used? Thanks
Please say you will discontinue your current practice of "estimating" costs. For me, for two months in a row, the winter estimations are more than six times my historical average. I use water for sprinklers in the summer, not the winter. I use 3 to 4 units in the winter, but I'm being charged for 15. Please stop that practice.
