Caller has tried to reach someone at animal shelter for 3 days. Is disgusted with phone system that won't allow him to talk to anyone. (I asked if he left a message--he had not.) He found an animal which he asked shelter to pick up and now he wants to adopt animal but can't reach shelter.) He also feels personnel are rude to him. Objects to spending $250,000 on farmers market shelter when it will be used by people from out of the county. His taxes have gone up the last two years and he is on a fixed income. As a taxpayer, he is disappointed with this "runaway" taxation.
Farmers Market was fine for years. Ms. Jackson against spending large amount of money for new shelter--was waste of taxpayers' money. She is taxed to death and yet the City won't pick up her leaves. This is simply mismanagement.
Ms. Robertson complained of overwhelming reluctance and poor response by the animal control officer she spoke with. She called the animal shelter after a Mastiff dog tried to attack her. The man she spoke with said he would rather not come and help her since there wasn't anything he could do if she hadn't already been attacked by the dog and instead suggested she use a broom to fend off the dog.
