Huge pile of trash on the ground and getting bigger. Had a resident call and complain. Our guys also complained about it.
Trash in yard & garage door falling off.
I live at 812 W 2nd St. My next door neighbor lives at 820 W. 2nd St. Her back yard is overgrown and has containers that fill with water. In warm weather these containers breed mosquitos. I can't even go outside in the summer because the mosquitos are so bad. Also, she won't cut her grass along 2nd St. She says it is flowers, but it is weeds. I have seen rats in there. Also it is a traffic hazard because cars turning on to 2nd St. from Euclid St. can't see oncoming traffic. I am also sending a copy of this email to the State Board of Health in Indianapolis.
Potential trash/belongings piled up in yard located immediately behind 1500 N. Walnut. Exact address not given. Please follow-up with Jane Rezvan at 812-332-2758. Permission was given to enter yard of 1500 N. Walnut if helpful.
Honestly, the entirety of the near north side from Dunn Meadow to 12th street and so is just COVERED in trash. Some yards are worse than others. In my years living here I'm not sure I've seen it so bad for so long. There are a lot of properties that could be cited. You could start with the house at the SW corner of Indiana and 7th and just fan out from there. It is embarrassing to the city, not to mention the university, as we are getting into high school junior visiting season.
The Herald-Times threw sample newspapers all over the Westpointe neighborhood (Larkspur and Woodhill). Many of these houses are vacant rentals and the sample newspapers are trashing up the neighborhood. Please have the Herald-Times come and pick up there samples they littered everywhere that no one asked for. We already have enough problems with trash in this neighborhood.
