People living in an RV for the last year with trash and equipment all over the backyard. Operating auto repair in their backyard. General nuisance. Police called several times for domestic abuse. Burning trash. Probably drug use.
The renter has had eight tires sitting in front of his garage since August of 2023. He has been asked to remove them but he only parked his huge white SUV in front of them. 1. they are unsightly 2. during the warm months the mosquitos will breed in the trapped water.
I wanted to propose the addition of a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of N Fess Ave and E 10th St. I live in Collins, and when walking between Hillcrest and the general courtyard buildings there are no immediate crosswalks in the area. The addition of white lines, particularly on the west end of this intersection (where there is already a metal grate where the sidewalk meets the road) would be very helpful for residents of Collins and would make the area safer for pedestrians trying to cross the street.
Left turn lane on 10th at Union and 10th badly needed. Constant backups waiting on one car. Or alternatively no left turn on 10th there permitted to Union either direction.
Please put up a sign to prevent left turn from third to Union during busy times. Much better for flow.
There was a collision today between a car and a bus at the intersection of 11th and Diamond Streets. The car was unable to see around the large building at the southwest corner, and pulled out in front of a fast-moving bus. A similar thing happened several years ago between two passenger vehicles which resulted in a collision with the house on the southeast corner (see picture). With the new development at Moravec Way, this intersection is getting much more use over the past few years. I would appreciate if a traffic study could be conducted to determine if some kind of traffic calming, such as a speed hump, would be appropriate to install on the west side of this intersection.
N College Ave crosswalk next to CVS is just a standard crosswalk and I go down this street everyday home from work and it's very dangerous. I usually drive in the left lane because right lane has more potholes. I see pedestrians crossing this street and cars do not stop. I will stop in left lane for pedestrian but right lane does not see person crossing and has to slow down quickly. Would be nice if we can get a crosswalk that alerts drivers like the one on South Walnut Street. My fear is that someone will get struck by a car crossing this street. Today someone crossed I stopped for them and right lane car next to me almost hit them driving fast down this lane. I hope this can be taken into serious consideration. Can 12th street be made into a one-way? It is too narrow with the street parking for East and West traffic. I see frequent traffic jams and near miss accidents when cars try to squeeze past each other.
I have currently lived on Kinser Pike for a little over three years, but in this last year I have witnessed two accidents right in front of my home. Two others were witnessed by my neighbors, for a total of four this year alone (not including the semi that took out the utility pole at the skate park). Just this morning (3/20/2019), a car spun out and almost crashed into the timber once again while I sat in my kitchen. I am extremely concerned about the curve on Kinser Pike right after the skate park. Traffic has become unbearable since we truly only have one way in and out of the neighborhood and to BHSN. I have also witnessed several school buses exceeding the speed limit by what I would guess is at least 10 MPH. I ask the city to please consider looking into this issue as we have children who live on this street as well as pedestrians crossing the street or using the sidewalks. This is still a neighborhood and it needs to be treated like one, not a highway.
Traffic using the stretch of South Park Ridge Rd between Morningside Drive and E 46 is consistently traveling at a very high rate of speed. This has always been an issue and now compounded with additional traffic utilizing this pass due to the temporary closure of E46 and Smith Rd. Attempting to back out of my driveway safely has become a real problem as there is a slight curve north of my driveway which creates a bit of a blind spot. Wondering if there can be some sort of traffic calming structures, caution lights or something that will help deter the speed of the traffic through this stretch. Thank you.
