Between the dog park in switchyard and tapp street on both side of the b-line there is nothing but homeless camps. Several had active fires when I was walking by. There are 30-40 stolen shopping carts and dozens if not hundreds of bicycles and bicycle parts. There is trash everywhere including the creek bed. I can only assume there is feces, drugs, and needles leaching into the ground and nearby ground streams. This has progressively gotten worse over the years. I’m praying the new administration does something about this problem not only here but all throughout town!

See tix 187165. Local merchants don’t flood the community with criminals, mental health patients, and drug users that are responsible these carts being abandoned all over town…the city does!! Like all the other issues in this town, local government passes the blame on others (property owners)….hard working tax paying citizens and employers! Stop accepting state money for rehabilitation of all the states delinquents! I highly advocate for people to lawyer up take action against this city with answers like that!!!!

If you can “like” post, 187191 would have thousands of likes!!!!! Along with all the post about the city being passive towards the homeless camps, trash, shopping carts, bike parts, etc… and other issues involving the transient population in town!

Parking Meters and Citations

Case Date:
4/22/2024

Who's running this city?? The parking ticket fees are outrageous...!!! $30 is a punitive money grab, not an appropriate parking ticket. If you want the stores downtown to stop shutting down, and you want visitors from out of town to enjoy this town as a tourist destination, stop charging exhorbitant fees to park and exhorbitant parking tickets if a meter goes slightly over time.... half the storefronts on the square are empty... maybe stop being penny wise and pound foolish, milking people who live here and want to shop downtown with outrageous parking tickets. I'm going to call the mayor's office about this as well.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring a concerning incident to your attention. As a Clinical Case Manager with Centerstone, one of our clients recently disclosed an encounter with a city employee named Charles. According to the client, Charles, who was working after hours but who was not wearing a police uniform, took the client's bottle of whiskey and traded it for a pack of cigarettes. Unfortunately, this client had to be sent to the Emergency Room later that day due to withdrawal symptoms. Due to HIPAA regulations, I am unable to disclose the client's identity. Despite potential risks to my position, I felt it was important to share this information with you. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Why don’t you recognize the number of complaints surrounding homeless issues…encampments, nuisance and harassment since 90% of your complaints surround this issue? The needs to be recognition of the severity of this issue and it starts with the city government recognizing how much influence has on the negativity and safety of the entire community Yesterday in front of the library the was a homeless person yelling at top of his lungs and flailing his arms at anyone the dared walk past him…the entire issue is treated a a pass along.

Drilling on South Walnut Street has been on-going since 6:30 AM on 06/25/2018. The drilling had stopped around 6:00 - 7:00 PM prior to this date. Now we find out from the Bloomington Police Department that the contractors have obtained a "Variance" to continue drilling non-stop through the night. This is Unacceptable! What good does it do to have noise ordinances if they are not enforced? This IS also a residential area! What happened to working 10 hour days 6 days a week? This is not just a noise issue. The drilling also shakes the foundations of the houses! Do the residents of South Walnut Street not have the right to a period of time to sleep?!!!! This is Wrong!
