Follow-up Case #179422. "Good afternoon, sorry for the delay in response, I was unsure of who to send this type of case. Forwarding to Parking Services thank you" Two comments: 1) after several years and lots of scooter complaints (media, uReport, etc.) it's strange that it wasn't routine where to refer it 2) maybe that explains why not a single ticket has been for improperly parked scooters. Anyhow, I suggest that routine monitoring of sidewalks (downtown at least) be assigned to Parking Enforcement

The BMCMPO received the following message/question from Mr. Sam Melchior (dsamuelm375@gmail.com) who asked the following: "Hi, I was wondering if there is any consideration of geo fencing the IU campus and downtown to control the dangerous use of e scooters. They are terribly dangerous and do not provide the safe eco friendly transportation advertised. Sam, a concerned citizen " We would ask that someone respond to Mr. Melchior regarding the geofencing of scooters within the City of Bloomington. People are living in the park again. There is a tent like structure blocking the stairs.

Someone has a microwave, air fryer, and grill/hot plate that they are operating out of an outlet on utility pole in the back of the park. The food and waste is attracting wildlife/raccoons in the picture, is concerning for public safety

Who's running this city?? The parking ticket fees are outrageous...!!! $30 is a punitive money grab, not an appropriate parking ticket. If you want the stores downtown to stop shutting down, and you want visitors from out of town to enjoy this town as a tourist destination, stop charging exhorbitant fees to park and exhorbitant parking tickets if a meter goes slightly over time.... half the storefronts on the square are empty... maybe stop being penny wise and pound foolish, milking people who live here and want to shop downtown with outrageous parking tickets. I'm going to call the mayor's office about this as well.

There is a homeless man with a dog named John outside the Starbucks on Indiana ave, and I really want to see the city help this man out, he is a lovely soul and deserves to be helped
