White jeep parked in front of hydrant on Union just north of 7th.
Swiped card and meter gave me 7 hours of time. Could only increase, not decrease. Cancelled. Tried again with same result. Display read 9 hours, but charged only for 2. Weird.
I am hoping that i can be credited for my lack of action manually deactivating my parking session. I love the app and convenience of using the app for parking. However, the new pricing model requiring a stop action tripped me up...and I think it is more difficult and not as user friendly. I only parked for 30 minutes ..however, I was charged for the entire day: Transaction Details: Session Id: IC4494037815168R Activated: 6/17/2015 10:28 AM Deactivated: 6/17/2015 10:28 PM Zone: 76133 Location Bloomington, IN Space: n/a License Plate Number: HH1395 Parking fee: $10.75 Transaction fee: $0.50 Total Cost: $11.25 Please let me know your thoughts as I contemplate if I should continue to use the app.. Parked left wheels to curb in No Park zone. (See selfie)
100 block s. Maple abandon vehicle.
I parked on 6th St near Dunn St and put money in meter. Turns out meter was not working yet. Why doesn't city government inform the public as to status of use of new meters. The entire meter process has been a circus.
Not really a problem, but maybe an improvement to a situation. I remember, while visiting Rehobooth, Va. That the parking meters had an available app. that I loaded on to my I phone. I was able to pay my parking meter via a credit card I had registered with a third party through my iPhone. The program even sent me a txt message when the meter timer was running low and asked if I wished to continue billing my credit card. I think Bloomington would benefit by this next step. Thank you. Seriously City of Bloomington ? You've put in meters and on top of 25cents an hour and parking ticket REVENUE, you are also requiring the user / city resident / visitor to pay YOUR credit card transaction fee. Really ? Please name me one downtown merchant that requires the customer to pay this fee. Ridiculous. I will be shopping / eating / recreating elsewhere. Not downtown Bloomington. Good luck to you and your soon to be very irate merchants / downtown business owners.
