This report is for the person that created #192463, in case they are checking on status. What you have reported has been reported before and obviously nothing has been done. The same thing has happened to others and me. I don't know what would constitute negligence on the city's part but... they have dropped the ball on this one. My $.02 is fixing the deep dip and drastically uneven surface at the intersection (that's what took me out) would be the least, installing a reflective post at the corners would be even better, or better yet a railing. Thank you for reporting your friend's experience and I hope they are not gravely injured and are doing okay. With any luck this will be addressed.

Grass clippings! Hazard! The southbound lane of Woodlawn along Bryan Park has grass clippings all over the right 1/3 or 1/4 of it. The park got mowed and a city employee left grass in the road. This is a danger to all the cyclists, motorcyclists, and scooter riders. Can we get that mower operator a leaf blower?
This happens routinely around the park and on Sheridan and Southdowns in the multi use paths. Very careless and dangerous for the city to leave debris in the road.

Hello,
I cannot find a place on this website to enter a report of dead trees on public property. Please forward this to the right office:
I'm concerned about dead trees that may be hazardous to cars or people, located in the forested public right-of-way (formally known as Davis St.) beside my house: at the dead end of the 1000 block of S. Ballantine. Can the city cut down some of these trees before they're blown onto cars or the street? Additionally, we have a huge dead tree between our house (1033 S. Ballantine) and the home behind us on Highland Ave. It abuts power lines, so I assume that this is either public property or a utility easement. I have tried (off and on) for a year to get Duke to remove it. No action. Can the city either remove this tree or persuade Duke to do so before it takes down all the wires that serve both Highland and Ballantine homes on this block?
Thank you.

Coming from Woodlawn, heading towards the intersection with Hawthorne and Ballantine, there are several willow (?) trees that have such low-hanging branches that they hit pedestrians and cyclists in the face.
Nuisance Lights

At dusk, on Tuesday June 17, a new floodlight was turned on near the corner of Woodlawn and Maxwell, at the Bryan Park tennis courts. This flood light points directly at the back of 916 E Maxwell and my home 912 E Maxwell. This light is comically bright and blindly. I support all efforts to maximize the safety of my community members using the tennis courts, the walking path and the parking lot on Woodlawn, but this floodlight is too bright for our neighborhood and pointed in the wrong direction. This light was on past midnight. I am asking that this light is pointed in another direction (towards the parking lot perhaps?) I have included two photos from the standpoint of my back door to my yard, where I can see nothing but the blinding light, and a photo of the back of the house, showing how bright it shines on the south facing side of the house. My neighbors at 916 have their entire south facing side of their house lit up by the blinding light.

Wanted to see if the parks and rec department could come take a look at the Beech tree on the north side of Maxwell (marker used above). Several really large dead branches that are dangerously falling in a piecemeal way. The overall health of the tree is in steady decline, and it may be easier for the city to remove it now before it is completely rotten.
Thanks!

There is a bradford pear tree (an invasive species) on the city median with the street. I'd like to have this scheduled for removal

At 9:40pm on August 18, 2024, an MSI security vehicle (the small two seater with a short bed) ran the stop sign on Woodlawn heading north at Southdowns, right by Bryan Park where the multi-use path and park exits/entrances meet Southdowns and Sheridan. The MSI vehicle then made an erratic turn on Woodlawn without any turn signals, turning sharply to the west just north of Sheridan, and entering the park through the grass, then quickly driving along the walking path. MSI is not law enforcement. They were not driving in a law enforcement vehicle during an emergency. They have no right to disregard a stop sign when other traffic is around and when pedestrians and cyclists could be in the area. Failing to stop at a stop sign is a traffic infraction and MSI should be held to account for putting others at risk. The abrupt turn into the park was also dangerous. The City should be aware of the type of behavior the hired help is engaging in around town.
